Which wash method is the "best"?

The best method in my opinion is to never introduce soiled wash media back into the wash bucket ...whatever method you prefer.

After my quest for the last few years to find out the answer for myself...I use a combination GD / Larry Kasillas technique. Fresh media per panel coupled with a stream of soapy water just ahead of the MF towel after an initial presoak and rinse.

Eliminates the two bucket grit guard entirely and is much safer.

I think so. I like the method so much I actually go to the do it yourself carwash and knock some of the dirt off with plain water just so I can do the rinseless method rather than do a conventional wash.

When I saw the method on the Youtube about not reintroducing dirty stuff into your soap, it was a revelation. Of course! microfiber towels are cheap (at least the kind I buy) squirt the panel with solution, give it a couple of swipes with a saturated towel and toss the towel into your empty bucket to be washed. and wipe down with a wrung out rag and dry with a dry MF cloth. follow up with spray wax.

I keep a covered bucket with the stuff and the towels in my garage. Washing the car is something I do at night or in bad weather. That's a big help all by itself. Just one more thing that doesn't have to wait until the weekend.

Here is my way to help prevent swirls.

I hand wash my car twice a week.

First I rinse off the car very well.
Foam it down and let it dwell a couple of minutes then rinse it off well again.
I then use the two bucket method, before I put my soapy mitt on the finish I foam down one side per say then wash it then rinse.
I always make sure to foam before I wash leaving it on the finish.

Drying causes swirls too, I use a good waffle drying towel, I don't dry in circles and domt use much pressure, I wipe in one direction but first use a leaf blower to remove a lot of the water.

This may not be the best way but it's the way I prefer to wash my cars.

In between washes I use Turle Wax Rinseless Wash & Wax to keep it look nice.
