My bimmer will get 3x WG sealant and monthly coats of various coats of waxes over the winter. My wifes SUV will get EX-P with Megs #26 and Mothers pure. Her vehicle is outside. My 86 Mustang GT will get a coat of Natty's red get covered and put away for the winter.

Did you see that Autogeek has Natty's Red available for Buy One Get One free? I ordered last night!

I think UPP is still suffering from the first gen version and it's poor durability. People NEED more feedback from those that have used it. I have seen very very little talk about the new polycharged version unless I caught some one talking about it and asked them directly.

MEeeeeeee ask meeeee....the stuff is amazing...i don't know what people are talking about poor durability....its prob people that are washing with dawn.....this stuff has been on my dd for 3 1/2 months..still kickin

How long is 4* UPP supposed to last anyways? They just say that it provides "months of protection" but they don't say anything else.

Negative the original formula lasted *for me* 1 months whilst living in south Fl. It just performed poorly in the durability category (quit a few had that type of experience using ver. 1).

Probably because there are too may variables to say how long it will last.

ok...well...im sure it can only be better with the polycharger

i have used the polycharged version, and here in dallas, it is easily lasting me 3+ months on my daily driver....

My Corvette and Avanti's stay garaged all winter so I don't do anything different for them...Griot's Best of Show Wax and Pinnacle Souveran takes care of them.

For our daily drivers I use Griot's Garage Carnauba Wax Stick...easy to use, looks great and long lasting. Great stuff. It will last until Spring with no problem.
seriously, you cant use the term long lasting and carnuba in the same sentence...carnuba doesnt last more than a month at best....it just doesnt stand up to washing at all....it not bad as a topper over some synthetic sealant, but as a stand alone, you are only cheating yourself and your cars finish....

Uh Meg's #16 and the entire Collinite line of waxes both have put sealants in there place. No they can't beat Zaino or the Klasse Twins, but durability is there strong point.

Collinite is a carnauba / polymer hybrid wax, like Zaino (a polymer) and Klasse (acrylic polymer) it gets its durability from the polymer content

Then I stand corrected it's just #16 then that has put many a sealants in there place. Didn't know Collinite was a synthetic blend.

I think you're really out of touch with how good some carnauba waxes are. I know many synthetics are where it's at for durability, but a good carnauba is far better than a mediocre or bad synthetic and a good synthetic is better than mediocre or bad carnaubas.

There are carnaubas that have little durability but look fantastic, I know that. If you're washing a good carnauba off your car you're either using the wrong car wash or using dish or clothes detergent, or simply washing it wrong.

I'm not here to flame anyone, but I've found there are some excellent carnauba waxes available. I used to use Mequiar's Gold Class and it lasted very well on my daily drivers, but didn't give me the look on my show cars I wanted. Now I've found the Griot's Carnauba Wax Stick gives even better durability and a great look. Is it more expensive...a bit but I like the results. My daily driver is ten years old and nearly 120k miles and I've used nothing but carnaubas on it...it gets waxed twice a year...sometimes less...and outside of a few parking minor parking lot dings, it still sparkles.

I live in the mid-Atlantic area...mostly mild winters but occasionally some severe stuff. I realize the climate one lives in can make a difference in durability, etc. If I lived in Arizona where my in-laws do, I'd probably use a good synthetic which I think would probably stand up better to the heat and sun of that environment.

Until I find something better, I'm quite happy with using quality carnaubas. I've changed brands before, it can happen again.

i emailed matt at autogeek and he said 4 star upp will last indefinatley if store indoors in cliamte controlled conditions....the bottle that is, not for protection, ofcourse....

Well, the Wolfgang paint sealant is running neck and neck with Collinite 845. I wonder if the users of the other two Collinite waxes (476s and 915) have thrown their support behind 845.

Who cares about carnauba durability anyways? I have yet to see a carnauba wax that comes anywhere near the beautiful look of a quality synthetic sealant. If anybody else has, please point me in the right direction.

My Moms Impala,my GTP, my brothers grand prix GT, and my dads 98 white Trans Am will all get collinite 845.all but the T/A just recently in the last 2 weeks has had a fresh coat of it put on.
Both my Firebird and my dads 99 Black Trans Am will have WGDG 3.0 put on before they go away to storage.

I just did 501 and 601/105. I might top it off with Klasse AIO or Tech Wax 2.0.

How do you guys gauge durability? How are you able to tell when a wax is wearing away?

I just finished applying the second coat of One grand blitz wax, i also have Poorboys Ex underneath. That should get me through the Texas winter weather.:D
