Which wax over Duragloss 501

So I just finished up some polishing followed with 501 on a close friends newer Grand Cherokee. The Jeep is a daily driver and frequently launches a center console into the ocean, so I planned on topping it with Collinite 845.

I opened the bottle after warming it up and set it on my work bench. My buddies curious German Shepherd had other plans for the 845 though. He knocked it off the bench and kicked it all around the garage and down the driveway into some sand. I was mad about losing the bottle of wax, but I was happy that the dog didn't consume any of it. My own fault for not investing in a squeeze bottle like everyone recommended.

That being said, I live about 2 hours away which is where I have my other bottle. I'm not a pro detailer so I don't keep a bunch of supplies with me. I have Meguiar's 26 yellow wax with me though. Would the yellow wax be worth putting over the 501? Would it offer any additional protection or looks? Or should I make the drive and go get my other bottle of 845? The 501 has had about 16 hours to cure too.

Any help is appreciated

Thank God it's a cheap product too and I am glad to hear your dog didn't consume any.
I see your dilemma as this: the Meg's wax will not last anywhere near as long as 845, so my question to you is this: Does it matter about the durability or is it worth the drive to have a combo that will give you a year's worth of protection?

I was hoping you would respond to my question, I started using the Duragloss products after reading some of your write ups and other posts. They're cheap, work really well, and another nice thing is that the local auto parts store stocks almost all of their products.

I'll make the drive then to get the 845. We're launching the boat tomorrow and I want the wax to last past this week :xyxthumbs:

I'm delighted to hear I've helped you with my prior posts! I think you'll be much happier going that route.

I always thought of using Meg's M63 on a car.

Meguiar's spokespersons usually state that any of their Marine/RV products
that have cleaning (abrasive) abilities should not be used on automotive paint.
Think M49 for example.

They also have stated that their Marine-line waxes are a different story:
It's fine and dandy to also use them on automotive finishes.

(BTW: I did paraphrase the above ever so slightly.)
