Which wheel cleaner on nasty wheels? Your goto

I use brown royal pretty often. Seems like I'm in the minority though as I feel sonax FE does a better job on nasty ones. I keep both on hand so maybe I should do a direct comparison on a test car.

On occassion I'll use IronX or Trix as well but only if I have to.

While on this subject of wheel cleaners I found Wolfs decon gel was a bit of a let down

What dilution ratio do you use Brown Royal?

Sonax fe better then br huh... Im curious also as to what dilution ratio. The price is certainly appealing, so close to pulling the trigger on that stuff...

APC for light dust
Brown Royal for heavier dusting ( I use it no dilution)
Meg Wheel Brightener for the bad stuff (4:1 dilution), usually followed by Iron X. This was what I had to use on my Mini Cooper which had the dreaded German car brake dust.

I am digging the idea for the Chrome Wheel cleaner for cleaning the brake part though. Thank for sharing!

How long do you let sonax sit on real nasty wheels? And what strength are you using br at?

In for pics of what's everyone this claiming. I just got some iron X so ill be testing that on some hardcore wheel that haven't been clean for the pass 8 years inside barrel.

MEGUIAR'S WHEEL BRIGHTENER.

Does a great, relatively inexpensive job of getting baked on crud off. If there is stuck on metallic brake dust then I get out my Sonax and give the wheel a spritz. When the wheels are spotless then that's the time to used some wheel wax to protect them from the crud to keep them clean longer.

Just got some P21s Gel today. When I get a chance I am going to try and make a video of it in action as well as Wolf's Brake Duster.

My go to Optimum Power Clean, and if I had a second without question Mothers All wheel and Tire Cleaner, really sudsy and will get that dirt sliding off.

Poorboys SPray and Rinse is my go to cleaner for all wheels.

About two years ago, I bought a gallon of Brown Royal....something to the tune of $32 shipped to my door. At the time, my old Lincoln had these wheels:

Which were a PITA to clean twice a week with a microfiber and my finger. Lot of little nooks in there.

I applied the brown royal, full strength to the wheels, let it sit a minute or two, and hosed it off. Didn't really do much at all, in fact, it stained my whitewalls (never did get them back 100%, pissed me off).

I then used it on the truck, where it did a good job on the blackwalls keeping them clean, but never did much for the rims. I now use Mother Foaming Wheel and Tire Cleaner, and it's the best one to date I've ever used.
