What to use on Honda?

Hey everyone I could use your help with everything concerning detailing the exterior of my white Accord.

Back in November I bought the Menzerna Ceramic 5.5 Polishing kit to use with a PC. But from reading the posts in these forums it seems that the Menzerna SIP and Nano polish might be to hard for my CC or paint.

After finding out my cc is too soft, I did more research and it seems that for polishing Megs 105 and 205, Duragloss 501, Menzerna 85rd or 87mc might be good for a Honda. I'll be using it with some LC pads. I have wht, orange and red. Do I need any others?

As far as wax is concerned, it looks like Souveran Liquid wax make white look good. What other wax do you recommend for white?

Excellent choice. Another good one is Pinnacle Sig Series II. Some might disagree with me but Souveran Paste is also good on white. Any of them do well amped up with Spray Souveran periodically. My white Expedition has Liquid Souveran/some Spray Souveran.
 
I find Menz polishes to work very well on Honda paints. If you already have them I would say to use them up before buying something else. Have you actually tried using them yet? What is the condition of you paint?

For my white non metallic cars, i have used varying combos of sealants and waxes and i think the best look comes from the following:

klasse sg (2-3 coats)
poorboys natty's blue
collinite insulators wax


the nattys in between was coincidence, but it has looked better with it between than when i went from ksg to collinite...


this nice wet look actually came from winterizing....


(i am however replacing KSG with wolfgang deep gloss)
 
just dont use the orange pads unless you have severe swirls, otherwise the white will correct your hondas swirls just fine...
 
My paint is in good shape. Not much swirls cuz I always washed and waxed by hand. I have never used a buffer (this will be my first time) so I have not used any of the Menzerna compounds. I just want to make sure I don't induce any swirls or marks by using the wrong compound and pads. Plus I want that wet shine look with white.

I'd get a black/grey pad also. I've had a lot of experience with Honda paints (almost exclusively, I maintain 2 civics, a Pilot a SK2, a CRV and Prelude) and even though they are soft, you can polish them up great with the Menzerna Ceramic polishes. Just step your pads down in aggressiveness. Instead of orange use white, instead of white use black, and instead of black use blue or red.

I'd recommend using the following:

SIP on White
Nano on Black
Nano or 85RD on Blue (this is optional but will jewel the paint to a high gloss)


Just be careful, take your time, and when in doubt go to the least aggressive option.

And then top with your favorite wax or sealant of choice. I like a dual combo of Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant and then topped the next day with DP Max Wax. The white will thank you and will end up looking amazing.

i dont think a black pad can withstand the pressure of polishing without comming apart....but forsure a white pad will do.....
 
I have used Meg 83/80 and Prima Swirl and Finish with Black and white 4" pads and a PC with great results on Honda's. After the car is polished use DG 501 with a black pad speed 3 on the PC, it will clean the car like no other. You can use it as your LSP as well. So let it cure wipe it off and your good to go. Next wash you can top it with Liquid Souveran.

Good luck, and have fun. That's part of what this is all about.

Vinnier, just make sure you use a good quality MF to wipe off the polish. It will mar the paint if you use a cheap towel (IE Walmart brand).
