White paint plan of attack.

I would like to detail a friends white car (2009 Nissan Altima) to a wet look. My current plan of attack is:

1. Wash with dawn to remove any and all previous protection
2. Clay the entire car
3. Correct with Meguiar's MF DA/300
3. Finish with Meguiar's MF DA/301
4. Top with Collinite 845

My questions are these:

1. Does this sound like a solid plan?
2. Should I use a cleaner wax after the D300?

This will all be done by PCXP and 5" MF DA kit. Collinite applied by DA with black LC finishing pad. Thank you for any and all advice.
 
Sounds like a good plan to me. Only a test spot will tell you of you need the D301 or not though.

I read it somewhere and believe its true. For white cars, wax is prob not what u are looking for. Warm look given by wax may be not a good partner with white or other light color. Instead, the plastic look of sealant could possibly give you a much wetter looking than wax.

you don't need a cleaner wax after D300. You will get some mechanical cleaning from the D300 and D301 is an AIO so it also cleans.

topping with 845 is fine. If you were to use a pure sealant then I'd recommend you not use the D301 b/c a sealant wouldn't bond as well to it. Just means you wouldn't get the full durability is all.

Durability of 845 might also fall a bit but I don't think it will be significant.

I've gone straight to LSP after D300 with every white/light vehicle I've used the DA MF System on. A few light passes at slow speed after correcting results in a nice finish on light colors. D301 is a cleaner/wax. I'd only use it if it was going to be the LSP. IMO, nothing else looks as good on white as 845. Personally, I'd skip the D301.

You're on the right track.... although 845 is named Insulator Wax and contains carnauba it's actually a hybrid. It gives an incredible gloss and sealant-like wet shine on white.

Not to hijack but what are the opinions on wg dgps or 845 (2 coats)on white paint?
 
I would strongly recommend looking into adding Iron-X into your plan of attack. After wash but before clay.

High for both. I use the Deep Gloss Paint Sealant on my Shelby. I love 845, but, I tend toward the DGPS for that car. Other cars of all colors get 845.

I would simply do the 300/301 and be done. I used that on my daughters Mustang and the paint looked very good when done. The protection lasted a good 7 months with the car parked outside most of the summer.

The 300 will finish down nicely, but the 301 will take it to the next level. It is not as evident on white, but, you can see it clear the hazing on darker colors. You have to assume the white is hazed and 301 can bring out that last bit of shine.

Then when time to reapply, go with the 845.
 
I have a 2012 Nissan Sentra pearl white, probably the same paint, and so far the best glossiest shine I've gotten has been with XMT 360 spray wax. I've used Klasse AIO, Collinite 845, Dodo juice, and Meguiars UQW, and the XMT 360 definitely gave a noticably better sheen. Also the XMT 360 was the slickest.
 
I would also suggest IronX at the beginning and use DG 501 after the Megs 300. Use a white pad on your DA at 4-5. You will be amazed at what it does to white!!
 
I appreciate all the advice, I have been researching the DG 601/501 mixture as an option. I was really trying to work with what I have. I do have a sample size of WGDPGS and can use that instead of 845.
 
for my single stage white paint i love the 845 topped with m16 combo, then for some extra slickness i use some xmt360 spray wax and really brings out the gloss....needs to be well polished of course .
 
I think 845 is made for white - it has a very bright look and reflectivity that's perfect on white paint.
