I have a white F150 Crewcab that is in very good shape. I wash it at least once a week followed by a spray detailer. My question is i just did a compltete detail on it 2 weeks ago that included,

1. Wash with PB superslick
2. Clayed with PB clay
3. Polished with PB polish Orange pad
4. LSP with Collinite 845 Red pad

And under the right lighting i can still see some marring and water etchings i forgot to mention that i used a Griots DA for the polish. Should i use a more agressive pad from Lake Country or should i try the Meguiars MF system? Like i mentioned before the truck is in great shape and the paint looks good but i believe it could look better.

You already have an orange pad. That should get out quite a bit of problems. Sounds like you just did not polish enough, or did not use an aggressive enough polish. What PB polish did you use?

The orange pad i used is the one that comes with Griots DA and i used the PB Professional polish. Will the Lake country pads be a little more agressive?

I have never used the Griots Orange pad, but looking at the description it is a polishing pad and not a cutting pad. So I would have to assume the LC orange has more cut.

Also, the Poorboys Professional Polish is just that, a polish, not a compound. It has a lighter cut then their compounds or swirl removers. You will probably need to step up to something more aggressive.

Hopefully someone who has more experience with the Griots pads can chime in here.

I also have some Meguiars Ultimate compound should i try it? And what should i follow it with?

Megs Ultimate Compound is good stuff. A lot of times, ecpsecially on white, it will finish down ready for your wax. Of course, you could always finish with the PB Polish just to give that extra shine.

This chart should help out a lot. The Megs UC is just below the Megs 105 in terms of cut.

Thanks for all the great info. But i have one more question can i just use the ultimate compound over the 845? Or should i strip the 845 and apply it again after the Meg's?

I usually take off the old wax so I can get a good feel of the actual condition of the paint that I am working with before I do any correction. Just a personal thing is all. You can go straight to the compound if you like though.

PB pro polish doesn't have abrasives in it, so it won't remove swirls and such unless used on a rotory with a cutting pad. U will need to use a polish or compound with abrasives in to mechanically level the paint to remove defects.

Personally I like to strip the wax off just like MP so I can get the cleanest possible finish as my canvas...
