My customer has a black Porsche Panamera. He says that he recently drove over a wet fog line stripe and the white paint splashed up on his car. Obviously he brought the car to me and asked me to remove the white paint from his black car.
First, while I have no reason to doubt him and I doubt he would make up a story to tell me, the places I found paint spots don't seem to make sense with the wet paint stripe story. Yes, one tire (passenger side rear) still has some paint on the sidewall. But the little spots of paint are mostly in front of that wheel on the rear passenger door. But you can find the spots of paint almost anywhere on the lower portion of the rear 1/3rd of the car including the rear bumper and even a little on the driver's side of the car. I would have expected the bulk of the paint to be behind the passenger side rear wheel. There is some paint behind that wheel, but not much. I don't know what to make of this info. I figured I would share it anyway. Don't get wrapped around the axle with where the spots are unless it helps explain what the spots are and how to get them off.
Now about the spots of paint. There is a picture below. The spots are small but when the car is clean, they are VERY visible. You can feel them with your finger tip or finger nail. They are tiny little raised bumps.

I tried the obvious tricks to removed the spots.
That's where I stopped and told the customer I'd need to do some research before trying anything more aggressive.
Folks... Got any suggestions?

- Flicking them off with my finger nail - they won't budge
- 3M Adhesive Cleaner - no effect
- Claybar
- Buffer with various pads and Meguiars M105 - No effect
That's where I stopped and told the customer I'd need to do some research before trying anything more aggressive.
