So I have come to the conclusion that white paint is just as hard to buff as black, mainly cause its damn near impossible to see anything in the paint and as soon as you but some light to it, you go blind. I started doing my car yesterday, which to be honest haven't touch in almost 8 months, I know Im ashamed of myself for neglecting my own car like that, now I did wash on a regular basis, but I started to get some swirls and alot of little debri in the paint. Anyway to my point, I came across a very strange combo for buffing that, well works amazing for me, normally I use 106 and an CCS Orange pad with my flex and it takes a while to do, but this took half the time, one step and its lsp ready, Menzerna 106 and a CCS Yellow Cutting Pad and my Flex on 4 and moderate pressure, I was amazed that it worked so well, perfect finish, went straight to lsp, oh by the way to see my paint I just pulled it out in the sun and put a pair of sunglasses on and it works like magic to see everything in white without going blind.

finishing polish with a heavy cut pad? we need pics!!

but yeah I know what you mean about white paint...sure the gloss is there but you have to get the right angle to see what's happened.

Ill try to take some pics, but even thats hard to do, but I will try.

Yeah. White is a #%$@^& to work with the reward is quite small. Yesterday, I just finished detailing my brother-in-law's white Jetta. It looked perfect in the garage. I shined some high intensity LED lights on the panels and they still looked good. Today, in full sun, I looked at the hood again and there were still faint water spots all over the hood.
Guess I need something stronger than SwirlX.

106FA with a yellow and/or orange CCS pad? And it was LSP ready?

Hmmm....106FA and a yellow cut pad. Sounds fishy to me. That pad is far too aggressive to be used with a polish. I would think marring would be left over.

As far as I can tell no marring what so ever, i looked over the car from every different angle and there are non, or if there are some you cant see any.

Pick yourself up a Brinkmann dual Xenon. Most frustrating 30-buck torture device you'll ever encounter

Dark garage with an LED light helps to find swirls.

With Menz the paint could be swelled up and hiding the swirls, not even IPA will reveal the truth. Give it a few days and check the results again.

White (and silver) are definitely hard to work with. It can be very tough to see any missed defects and make sure all the polish is completely off. Makes it all that much more important to use a polish with a long working time and easy clean up.

Ok at the risk of sounding stupid, what do you mean by swelled up? Never heard of that before.
