White vinyl convertible cleaning

Hey Guys,

I'm trying to clean up this 04 Mustang's white vinyl convertible top. Does this look like the paint is off the surface or just that the products using (APC and a brush) not enough? I hit it with my steamer too without a huge difference. It seems to be getting cleaner in some areas but with a lot of effort and scrubbing. Any ideas?

How strong of an APC solution are you using? I would increase the strength and see what happens. Optimum power clean would be a good option if the APC does not work.
Keep us posted on the progress and what works in the end.
 
Thanks for the reply MPBGT. I actually just realized I was using my 50%/%50 APC mix. I'll try full strength tomorrow on it hopefully that helps.

Swanicyouth- no, just if it appears that the color is already off. I know that what I'm using will not strip it off but this particular top I'm finding difficult to tell what is dirt or grease and what is actually paint that has came off over time.

Some 303 cleaner and a little bleach and scrub. Should make it 100 times better. I did one on a similar, if not the same, year Mustang, and the neighbors of the owner thought they had a new top put on.
 
Thanks man. What's was the mix with the bleach you used if you can recall? Or did you use it full strength?

How did the top come out? Did you ever get it clean and what mix of products did the trick?
