1. What is your real name? Mike Shumaker

2. How old are you? 26

3. Where do you live? Brownsburg, IN (30 minutes west of downtown Indianapolis)

4. What do you do for a living? I work in IT, however, I want to start my own detailing business on the side & maybe one day have my own full-time gig with it.
I'm a lot more of an auto-geek than a computer-geek. Honestly, IT is just a job. If I'm not at work I could care less. I'd love to just spend my days detailing or working on cars.

5. What does your name mean? mshu7 = Mike Shumaker and the 7 represents the number I wore for football. Each male Shumaker (my dad, my brother, & myself) has been called Shu or Shuey by friends so that's where it originates.

6. A interesting fact we might not know about you. It's not very interesting, but it's just what I'm dealing with right now. I'm recovering from my 3rd back surgery. I had two surgeries in two months during my senior year of high school back in '97-'98 (basically wiped out my final season of football). All 3 surgeries were to repair ruptured discs (two) in my lower back. This is hopefully my last surgery to fix a ruptured disc. However, I'll have to have a more major surgery sometime in the future. Both discs that I've ruptured (one of them twice) are degenerative which means they are dead and getting smaller all the time. The disc provides the padding between your vertabrae so if you don't have much of a disc, you have a lot of pain, which is what I have. Spinal fusion is an option now, however, there's a new artificial disc replacement surgery that has been FDA approved in the US since 2004. The only problem is that the FDA only approved of single-level disc replacements and I need a two-level replacement. I'm holding out for the FDA to approve the two-level disc replacement sugery because of the drawbacks of a fusion. I go back to see my surgeon for my 6-week (and hopefully final) follow-up. During the 6-week recovery I've had to stay on the couch all day everday. Needless to say, I'm dying to have my restrictions lifted and be able to get back in my normal routine AND get back to detailing.

Oh yeah...I'm also married (3 years) and we have two small Netherland Dwarf rabbits named Billy & Allie (both females)!

LOL Justin!

Although, don't feel bad. It took reading through a few posts before I realized what "what your name means" really meant! HAHA

I put my real name too. Jennifer comes from Genevieve which supposedly means white wave. My screen name is self explanatory. :) Sorry about all the surgeries Mshu. I was on bed rest for 2 months when I was pregnant with my daughter because I had gone into premature labor at 28 weeks. They managed to stop the labor but I had to stay in bed for the last 2 months. I feel it for you!! I was going crazy to get off the couch. I hope this ordeal will be over for you soon.:grouphug:

Heck I'm 24 and know what back pain feels like, now I understand why older people complain lol. Few years ago took a bad wipeout wakeboarding, hurt but still went kneeboarding after and took an even nastier fall (your back pretty much absorbs any shock when kneeboarding so imagin getting major air and slamming straight down while on a whip). I ended up bruising/compressing my vertebrea, took about 2 years to heal and I still won't kneeboard till this day, don't want to risk that again (but I'll wakeboard like hell, go figure lol). Even getting out of a chair hurt, honestly, at 1st I thought I broke my back thats how hard I hit. Backs don't heal the way other parts of your body do.
