6. Well, father was in the Army, and I traveled all over the world. I was in the Airforce for a short time.
I have 4 kids and they give me gray hair.
My 1st Son was diagnosed with cancer when he was 17 months old, now 4, he is in remission and doing fine. My wife had cevical cancer, had a hysterectomy, and is now fine.
Other than that...life is a struggle for money like always:cheers:

6. im an oif2 vet got injured over there (tore all the ligaments in my left knee) and im just working random jobs til i can clear my med board (hopefully december) so i can get back on active duty (army)

Mike, I'm a provider at WAMC (Fort Bragg). One piece of advice regarding MEB's: be patient. They never go as quickly as you'd like and the outcome can't always be predicted. But know this, even if the MEB makes a desicion you don't like, it's not always final. A duty related disability still needs to go through a PEB AFTER an MEB. The MEB makes recommendations, the PEB makes determinations. If they say you are not fit to perform the duties of your MOS, ask for a trial duty. Often, the desisions are made based on your capacity TODAY. If you can do your job, or some other job in your unit, you can make a case that you can still perform a job on active duty while you recover from your injury. Once you recover satisfactorally, then you can be re-evauated for fitness.

Obviously, the military is not keen to loose good people at this time. They would rather give a compassionate reassignment to another MOS before boarding you out. For those who are looking to be boarded (ie disability) it's never what you think you deserve. I work with head injuries all the time. Let me put it this way: duty related brain damage=30% maybe. Don't count on diability carrying you in the future. Better to complete you committment if you can, or retire at best. The military is really the only true job security left in this country. Even GS civilians can go at any time. It just a swipe of a pen and the position is gone.

I'm a fanatic for good customer service... if a store, company, vendor does not provide acceptable customer service/relations then I go out of my way to cease business with them and/or complain to executive management. Too many companies anymore are spending less on this element of their business and seem to think it is OK to treat customers like they are unimportant or are idiots. This has resulted in me driving extra miles and spending a few extra $'s once in a while - but I happily do it!
 
i do hope i pass i think im back to 100% i dont have a limp,standing for long periods of time doesnt effect me anymore, only thing wrong with it now is that it gets sore in the cold and when i touch it, it feels numb as if it has fallen asleep. Im hoping due to the deployment of all of the cav here at ft bliss that beaumont can expedite the process. Id give anything to go back to my army jiffy lube job (wheel vehicle mechanic)
