Who Thinks Autogeek Needs An In Print Catalog?

Print catalogs are extremely expensive. Profit for any company is simply price minus cost. Since AG can expect very minimal sales volume increase, they only have to two choices - either charge for cost of the catalog ($5.00?) or pump up the price charged to customer if they want to maintain profit.

So which do you want - to pay for a catalog or pay higher prices for their products? Hmmm???

Dan.

p.s. I sit on the can reading about AG (and it's competitors) on my iPad and sometimes on my iPhone. Works very well. No paper required.

Waste of paper and they constantly update items and prices. Not worth it.

Well, here's an idea.
What if AutoGeek made a PDF catalog, in black and white, that could be downloaded and printed? It could be updated monthly with new products and prices. Then only those who really want one will be able to get one.

I've been getting Griot's catalogs for years and I often wondered how cost effective it can be considering how often they send them out. They come at least once a month and I rarely buy from them since I discovered Autogeek. They only carry their named products and in all honestly I like the choices offered by Autogeek along with all the helpful folks that work there and of course the forum is a sea of info. It can't get much better then this.

you know, the pdf catalog is a really good idea then if we wanted to we can get them printed ourselves.however, i would rather it be in color because you can always change printer settings to print black and white very easily and the site and photos are already in color so would be way easier for the AG staff to complete.so can we possible get a pdf catalog nick or meghan? a pdf version be easier update a pdf and update the site then paper. think of it this way as well, be ANOTHER FIRST for autogeek!. don't know why I did not suggest that to begin with!. so can we purdy purdy purdy pwease get a autogeek pdf catalog?
I also get the griots catalog but dont order from them as i use places with all different products such as AG. however, some of griots non detailing items look pretty cool like the decorative items and some of the tools and stuff like that.

I don't think this is a good idea.

I personally dont read any catalogs that come to me. I am signed up with CCS (online skateshop) and I receive their catalogs which is cool but i never open them and look through them. If I want something, I know what I want and I will go online and order it so I think its just a waste of money.

Still nothing like a paper catalog to read for those of us who do not live in front of a computer.

Waste of money for AG. Everyone orders on computers, it would just be an added expense to be deflected to the customer.

I have to point out that most of the "work" of a catalog is the art, which you still have to do for a pdf catalog. Sure there are printing and mailing costs, but eliminating that doesn't make things cheap or easy.

Matt,

There's nothing like sitting back and browsing every product on every single page, drooling all over, but cost is a huge consideration. If anything, maybe consider something in a PDF format that could be downloaded but a nice paper catalog will be very costly and would impact product cost.

PDF sounds great. +1

I like the web version and think that cost would probably have to go up with a printed copy. Maybe a monthly newsletter of new stuff and tips if anyone wanted to download. Time consuming for AG though.

u would probably check autogeek site every day even if there were a (catalog) just to see whats new and new videos reviews ...

and making a catalog for all the items that autogeek sells will require alot of pages
its not just 10 or 15 pages
way more

me personnaly i agree with having a catalog for all items selled by autogeek

but
dont tell u gonna wait 6 months to see new items that will be arrived after a day or 2 ?
