Why am I being subscribed to every thread I post in? Tired of getting emails.

Is anyone else getting an email notification whenever someone else responds to a thread you posted in?

I've been on a ton of forums in the past and this has never been an issue. I looked at the USER CP to try and see if it's an option that can be removed, and I don't see anything. It's so annoying.
 
Edit your notification options under 'user cp'

Hey brother, thanks alot! I just changed it right now.

I find it extremely odd that they had that as the default setting.

It is the only forum I visit that has instant notification / subscribed as the default. You may want to go back and edit the threads you are already subscribed to as well and change those notification options too (this setting only applies to new threads you post in from this point forward).

Go to 'quick links' and 'subscribed threads'
 
thanks for asking this question, i had the same problem too, also had the same problem on another fourm and now changed on both.
 
This bugged me for a long time! I'd get a bunch of emails at midnight. They should change the default and if you want to have email notifications then you choose that option.
 
It was set as a default since most people posting want to see the additional replys and sometimes answers to questions they post. You can change it as desired.

That default got me the wtf face a few times since it will go off at 12 o'clock at night
 
I am a member of about 15 forums - autopia and AGO are the only two I have ever joined that have the "email at midnight" set as a default....

please turn it off..we can make those decisions....

Says who? I disagree and apparently others do as well since that is what this thread is about.
 
Most times, the thread gets bumped up and we get to see it from the main forum page. If I remember or want to check on a thread I posted on, I look at my subscribed threads. I think being subscribed by default is fine...its the email notification option, IMO, shouldn't be. It took me awhile to find where to change it. Most of us have smart phones with emails that get pushed to our phones.
