Why certain threads are deleted, while others left up?

If it's not something they sell, just post about it on the sister site, Autopia. I believe any and all products are allowed to be discussed over there, but you might want to read the rules beforehand to make sure.

Hum, Autogeek is usually very forgiving regarding that type of things. Maybe something in you post was considered not acceptable. I don't know. But overall it's very rare the admins will delete posts. Hopefully you will be informed of the reasons and will be able to avoid it in the future.

I just want to say.... If we are to prosper, grow, and educate are selves and each other than what sense is it if were controlled by what ag sells. I understand if its a competitor but product? I know im new here but i wasnt aware of that. Id like to see write ups about everything, not what big brother allows based on interest.

That's what other forums like Autopia are for, like Mark said if you don't care for the Autogeek forum rules go to another forum. No one is forcing us to be here. I myself enjoy this place and also other forums, not just detailing related.

He posted the name of the online website supplier that is a direct competitor to AG in his original post.

That's a rather naïve take on the subject. Everything is about money, someone pays for the server to host this forum, the bandwidth, the software, etc. etc. The owner is, no surprise, going to have something to say about what goes on here.

I guess if you want a forum devoid of a big brother/owner, maybe you should start your own forum. I'll join, if that helps.

Amen!!!

Yeah, you've definitely confused me with someone else. I bought it from an individual who was reselling it and I found him through Instagram, he doesn't even have a website to buy it from, so you must be confusing me with some other thread.

I didn't want to get into an argument with anyone, everyone else was very civil in their responses and that was very much appreciated.

As that may be the case, You have my sincerest apology, I'm definitely big enough to admit if I was wrong. So I'm eating a full serving of crow. I'm :hungry:

No worries, I just didnt want people thinking I was posting links or info about other companies where product was received from. I know that's not cool and wouldn't go there. If that were the case then the thread would have been deserved to be deleted, but it wasn't, hence my original confusion.

Thanks for clearing that up :props:

Like I said, it's my fault. I hope we're good. :props:

And this is why as great as this forum can be, it will always be my #2 place to go

You are not wrong custmsprty, he tried to go back and edit the post, but time had elapsed.

Jarred you said you were not promoting Beads and you were playing with words when you stated you were not selling it. When in fact your website showed that you were in fact installing Beads. What's the difference between selling it and installing it. Are you now going to say you install it, but don't sell it (playing with words)? You know dam well that you were trying to promote Beads using AG as your advertising media and that's why your thread was removed.

This forum is for other detailers, not potential customers wanting to get coatings installed.

His post had very little chance of affecting his own sales. It's not like ANY of jareds potential customers would stumble on his post in search for a paint coating installer.

Thanks Kengo, couldn't have said it better myself. I doubt there's even a dozen other people in my small town that know this forum exists so anything I post here is highly unlikely to affect my personal little one man detailing business. I do sell/install the product on customers cars (or I plan to at least) just like all those other detailers who sell/install those other coatings I mentioned earlier, but I don't sell the product itself in the way AG sells products.

I was simply sharing my experience with a new product with a bunch of enthusiasts who I figured might be interested. Most were, some others I guess not so much, my bad.

Wow! Let it go man, go detail something and relax. It will be ok.
