Why do people do things?

What I don't understand is people with $50,000 + cars and they are just filthy, and not like they got that way in a week, wheels caked with so much brake dust you can't tell what color they were. If you're not going to take care of something that cost that much then why spend all that money? Do they think it's a status symbol to drive something that shows you are a pig?

:iagree: Was at school today and there was a silver 5 series bmw and the silver wheels were completely brown. I also saw a continental gt that was absolutely disgusting.

I dont get it.
 
I don't know why you guys are complaining. If everyone took good care of their car, every detailer in the country would be out of a job. We NEED exactly these types of people to neglect their cars and swirl them up until it's so bad that one day someone needs to call a pro to take care of it.

Automatic car wash down the street from me uses dawn dish soap to wash every car that passes through. Then they proceed to dry the vehicles with bath towels they take from hotels..

I'll admit I've done that before.......sort of. While I did indeed take the squeegee to the car, it was to clean off the headlights ONLY on my old 98 Saturn 4 door (nice long headlights that fit the squeegee width perfectly). I would NEVER ever use it on paint and I only used it at the time because I lived in WA, it rains a lot there, and my headlights were filthy from miles of fwy driving.
 
the typical every day person thinks car paint is really tough and most dont know what they are doing is wrong, most take cues from their parents or others who they associate with. i dont get why people buy black cars and dont take care of them. when they should know black shows everything. imo id use the squeegie on my paint only if my front end was covered in bug guts and i was on a road trip and had no other means, however when i go on a road trip i keep small bottles of detailling supplies in a small toolbag in my trunk. detail supplies, extra bulbs,simple tools, and im set! a toolbox is too heavy and messes up my front/rear weight distribution! on another note i do what some see as a nono and thats putting stuff on the roof of my car, for me i cant bend straight over to pick stuff up from the ground i need to squat down then get back up which is no good on knees at all. luckily i have a sun roof and keep my car clean so i place items there, and if anyone who rides in my car dares put something on my paint i wig out, the glass is fine as its harder to get scratched. another thing i noticed people do and they dont notice their doing it is not lifting fully and dragging the object across the paint, i instruct people to lift off the surface then move it. people think im insane but if they dont want to deal with my ocd detailing then they dont need to ride in my car! LOL.theres alot people do that irritates others its just human nature.
 
Have you ever noticed that on police shows suchas "Cops" everytime a cop pulls someone over and makes them get out of the car to go thru their pockets, the cops always toss their keys on top of their car. Everytime I see this I go nuts. If I were in a situation like that I'm pretty sure that I would say something and if any damage was done I would definitely try to get compensated for it. You know alot of cops think they can do anything they what with no repurcussions, their egos are over inflated to the point of being ridiculous. So that's my rant, I hope I never get myself into any trouble with the police.
 
Detailed a vw tourag here in OZ last week. $100,000 car: 8 months old:Oh what's this under the drivers seat:chicken bone. What's this stuck in rear carpet:chewing gum. Yum some m&m wow they leave purty colors in the carpet.Wont go on about all the dust but you get the picture.Would you like the car polished at all sir: No thankyou young man it shouldn't need it because this is it's first wash.
Tried to explain but was cut off with:I didn't want to spend too much on a clean IT'S ONLY A CAR.Wash and interior detail 3.5hrs it was that bad. Yes he was charged accordingly. Look at the finished job sir: It'll be right I'll ring if I need you again.Next job the couple waiting in drive for my arrival (yes I was on time) older car $7000 value:Insists on a wax ever six weeks,love their car and love that it's always in top condition and I love their cups of coffee.Point being sometimes,the less you have,the more you appreciate what you do have. IMO

Sitting in a drive-thru today and notice the lady in the minivan behind me is holding a coke bottle out the window. She then casually empties the bottle right down the side of her door, then carelessly throws the bottle into her back seat.

What's wrong with people these days?:dunno:
 
I used to work at a gas station. This broad I worked with would wash her car at the pump with a squeegee and the windshield wiper solution. Then follow up with a nice brown paper towel buff.

Still makes me cringe

Wouldn't want that salt damaging the paint! LOL
 
Last Saturday I was delivering 2 sheet pizzas and some wings to a lady in the school parking lot. She came over to me while I was holding them and said "Just put them down there" (ponting at the hood of my car), I said "No way, I will hold them till your ready to take them, I am not putting these on my paint!" WTF???

But when they put the arse against the car or truck with their jeans. Or the gas pump operator leaning over the car with that big belt buckle and the zippers of their coats.
