Why does this keep coming back????

Rain X doesn't like paint, or vice versa. Used to say that right on the bottle. Haven't used the stuff in 16+ years, so I don't know if the warning is still on the bottle.

Red Hawk,
The warning is still on the bottle.

I apply the rain x to a applicator and then apply. Only thing I can think of is that its.not sealing all the way possibly

Use rain-x X-treme Clean and then clay the glass. And then reapply the rain-x. This works great for me.

I just got on the computer this morning guys, I apologize for the pics. They show up alot better on my Samsung and not sure why. After I washed the truck I used a spray detailer on the hood and then went in to eat supper. I came back out and couldn't see it under fluorescent light in the garage so I don't know if it's gone or if the sun just shows it. Going to check it today.

Just a side thought: I noticed when using a trim sealant, after it rains, streaks from the sealant formula can be found on glass and on paint. Maybe you did this to your cowel?
BTW, RainX washer fluid and some others, are causing washer fluid level sensors to be coated in goo over time, which will lead to a triggered low-level light.

I usually dont do the plastic trim because it never has looked good.... It's also all over the windshield and cowl. i don't think it would spread but you never know.

I treat the glass just like paint. Wash, clay then wax. Rain water doesn't stand a chance. Slick as ice. Haven't used Rain-X in 16 years, since I discovered the merits of claying.

@red hawk
wax doesn't yellow over time being on the windshield?

I wouldn't put "wax" on my windshield as I can see that as eventually causing chatter. I do use B.F. Crystal Seal and love it. No chatter at all, just smooth gliding goodness and while it's not water sheeting hydrophobic like Rain X or others, it does blow off nicely on the freeway and again, for me I just want smooth silent wipers which I have. Thankfully.
