I dont get it..they make nice stuff but they dont try to help make it smell better..I mean I have the Tire & trim and interior guard plus and they both smell like Kerosene. It doesnt make using the stuff very fun cause it stinks so bad. Just dont understand why that cant make it smell nice

Performance?

If it works I don't care if it smells like a chicken house. If it's rank and the performance is lousy then I give it to someone I don't like.

It's just the solvents that evaporate and leave the protection behind on the surface. Same reason the Collinite waxes and FK1000P stink, they're solvent heavy.

I always make my wife smell my detailing stuff. She commented how the garage always smells like candy. When I got my mini jar of Fuzion, I had her smell it and she asked me if all detailers were a bunch of girls with pretty smelling stuff.

Obviously I don't use Ultima.

Yet.

I used "manly man" smelling car products until I can across Autogeek. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to use it on the cars or eat it. Your wife made an astute observation. Ya know, there was mention of cheerleaders in another post today too.

Coincidence?

XMT Carnuba Paste wax always tempts me to taste it. Kidding...well kind of.

While it doesn't smell like food I never thought the scent to be terribly strong unless you stick you nose in the bottle and inhale. The smell is not solvents but actually is (believe it or not) an identifier of Ultima sealants. I know, shocked me as well but that's what Sam told me.

I VERY much like the fact that it doesn't smell up my Sky with any kind of lingering scent. With other cars I like the added banana or fruity smell but on my Sky I keep it so clean that any added lingering smell would take away from the truly clean scent I have.

I know smell should not be a deciding factor, but if I am putting it inside the vehicle, I would like it to smell decent. I have never tried Ultima products, I want to bad though, so I can not comment as how long the smell lingers. So I guess my question is, does the smell linger?

Well you typed a bit faster then me, and answered my question! Thanks!

:haha:
LOL! I've smelled a lot worse products than Ultima.

i guess i got a sensitive nose..Cause just putting it on my trim it seems pretty potent to me.

To be honest, I don't mind the smell of the interior products, I quite like the smell of Interior Guard Plus.

Tad mentioned to me that he thought it had a hint of leather smell to it. After he said that now I can barely notice it. Jim mentioned the same thing (a slight leather hint to the smell)

I definately detect a hint of leather in UIGP. UPGP and UTTG dont smell like much to my old nose.

I can smell the "chemical" smell initially when applying, but it fades after a few hours if not less. Leaves my car with just the new car scent as it is still new.

I don't mind the smell to Ultima products at all.... they work too darn well!

I think you need to try Iron X,formerly Iron Cut, or the Sonax Full Effect Wheel Cleanerr to get a true appreciation for great products that really stink!

Actually they just released a Squash scented version of Iron X. It's available for order now. Just a guess but I figure it won't be long before we see an updated version of Sonax Full Effect.
