why dont they sell pinnicle in stores????

I suggest taking a class in college called Business Development . It is amazing at how a business plan differs from mass market to boutique. Pinnacle would never sell well as a price point product at Eckerds, and well mequiars Hot Wheels doesnt sell all that well at boutique/internet markets.

Had a similar class back at college. That and a marketing class, we both had to actually work hands on with owners learning operations and actually implementing ideas to grow. One of them was Genious Jones in Miami a few years ago (high end children type store), we worked with him for about a year and he went ahead with some things and now his business has shot through the roof. Those two classes hands on taught more then all 4 years of the other classes put together.

It makes perfect sense why you don't find Pinnacle at Walmart. Probably the largest hurdle as mentioned, is name recognition. At it's current price point, who is going to buy a wax that costs twice as much as Turtle Wax at Walmart, especially when they've never heard of it. Secondly, they would have to lower the price significantly to compete because for one, the average person isn't going to spend a premium for one product over another, and secondly most stores aren't going to want to stock something significantly more expensive than the rest because they run the risk of not selling any of it. Lastly, selling to large chains like a Walmart, or even smaller auto parts stores becomes a big headache. They have to ramp up production for if the stuff does sell, deal with all the headaches of dealing with a large retail establishment (my wife knows how that goes in her job), and run the risk of the whole deal falling on it's face.

So as I see it, Max is probably content to have his niche products that are thought of as the best by many in the world of detailing, and based on their pricing I'm sure he is making a tidy little profit from those that buy it.

Plus when your talking about a big chain like Walmart, they basically have the power to control you and pressure you, ask anybody in the industry, their the worst company to do business with.

im lucky enough to live in boca where we have a "drivers seat", store where all of the high end detailers products are. id rather buy from ag anyway, but its nice to be able to run over when i need something quick.

There's a lottt of products that aren't sold in stores. Is Pinnacle/DP/Wolfgang all Max's products/design? This is what I've always thought and I'm sure he might have something to do with it not having them available OTC.

Besides, if they were available at local stores, I can't tell customers I use the best of the best that you probably have never heard of!! Hahaha.

yup, those are all in-house brands.
