Why not reccomend 3 bucket method

I was thinking about the recommended wash method today washing our borrowed Nissan March(that's another subject) today. For best defense on not inducing swirls in washing everyone(used in general) says 2 bucket method.

So why not recommend a 3 bucket method?

One bucket for suds, one bucket for wash media rinse, and one bucket for tire and wheel brush. That way someone(new to this) would not use their body wash/rinse bucket when doing tires. You would also have dedicated tire bucket.

Don't know if this has been recommended, just thinking all I ever hear about is the 2 bucket method.
 
Sounds good to me. You could call it the TuxedoTaurus method.

Would you use a grit guard in all three buckets?
 
I would wedged in at an angle(maybe patent my own LOL) to give you something to scrub the brush against to dislodge debris.
 
Technically I just change the rinse bucket out after wheels and refill for paint... So yes, a 3 bucket is the same concept.
 
I do something similar. Always doing the wheels and tires first, I have seperate brushes and sponges for them. I'll usually start with one bucket maybe filled only a quarter of the way, then rinse the bucket out once I'm done with the wheels and tires, and move on to the rest of the car.

I don't use a seperate bucket for the tire stuff, that is a good idea.. I do have an extra laying around, and it would be easy to store the wheel brushes and cleaner inside that specific bucket

The three bucket method, I dig it! The TuxTaur Method maybe?

That is what seems to be done, but I would wash mine out with APC to make sure any residue (old dressing, break dust,dirt) is not left behind that could contaminate my wash mitt. The extra step made me think just to dedicate a bucket.

Now this came about because of my fear of swirls and OCD.

^ same here, i never use the same buckets that i use on paint for wheels...
 
This is what I do. If you're really a stickler you could do 4 buckets but that seems overkill for me

People may do this, but some might not. Hence recommending 3 buckets for clarification.

After posting I thought about that as well.

My problem is I am itching to get back to the US to get my package of goodies and love on my car. I even have a list of procedures and a separate list for product dilution ratios for each area of the car.

I've found that lugging around one bucket with water can be somewhat tiresome though.

One bucket has soap and water and 2 grit gaurds. The other bucket is just to carry the brushes around.

Using one bucket and 2 grit guards cleans the brushes the best from what I've found.
 
So with just regular maintenance work rinsing with water is fine and move from tire to tire. Then just clean the brushes at the end of the 4th one.

If they are filthy like in that video. If you want to work super clean that is a good way to go about it.
 
That method is called: The Arthur Hernz - 2 grit guard in one bucket method for wheels and tires. :D
