Why does autogeek sell products under the names of Pinnacle, DP, Wolfgang, and Cobra? They're all autogeek! Made by the same people, why have 4 names when you can just say autogeek?

Why did Toyota start a completely different brand of cars named Lexus?

I think of it like this:

Pinnacle is the deluxe of the deluxe.

Wolfgang is a hidden gem, german products I believe, and just great quality, middle of the road.

DP is a great boutique line that is the "cheaper" stuff, readily available in gallon sizes for those who use a lot.

Consider it a comparison to the Cereal market. Why did Post, General Mills, Quaker, and Kellogs make 93240394803948 different cereals? To please the consumer? Not so much (granted, this isnt the case with Autogeek/PBMA). Think about the market an independant cereal company would have to enter to be successful. The 4 monopolies, so to speak, can lower their prices to be below the new cereals' production costs and quickly knock them out of the market.

I think of it exactly like this.

The Pinnacle is the Bentley, WG is Mercedes/BMW/Infiniti/ACURA, DP is like Honda/Toyota/etc.

I also anticipate Diamondite exploding into a full line as well, but we'll see.

This is an economic strategy that resticts access into the market. The multiude of brands will generally ward away new coming lines that are not associated with PBMA. Likewise, PBMA can compete within itself, driving prices both up and down.

Another concept to keep in mind is that each line has its own diamondbacks. Pinnacle is wax, WG is sealant, and DP is everything else, lol. Each using its own ingrediants and compounds for the most part, vastly distinguishing them from each other.

Also, recognize that my above statements are true to a certain extent, for autogeek offers a wealth of products that are not of the "house" brands, and are from outside suppliers (ie. mothers, meguiars, 3m, the list goes on and on).

4 different labels = 4 different product lines.... and Autogeek is just the store name, PBMA is the one who makes them all.

PMBA has five lines, you forgot Diamondite. As said before, each line is designed differently , not only in ingredients but also in outcome.

DP == Good Ole Made in the USA
Wolfgang == European Polymers
Pinnacle == The Pinnacle of Carnauba, and now Polishes
Cobra == microfiber line

If DP is made in the usa then the rest must be too since they are from the same company correct?

This is a very interesting post...good to read looking forward to the rest of the info...I'm just a fly on the wall...don't mind me

while they are assembled here locally by the PBMA chemists, not all the ingredients would be considered "part of the us" with the other lines. If you are trying to insinuate that they are all repackaged (same products in different labels) you are incorrect. Some may have the same ingredients but to different degree's and some add polymers or remove surfacant and the like to make original formulas.

DP was originally the first line called Detailers Paradise. Original labels were yellow and blue. Low cost, high value, designed for professionals.
