Why we shop at AG. (international buyers)

Mr dream machine how does the delivery fees rate and the exchange rate does it make it worth while?

Now some of you may wonder why there are so many international coustomers on here that shop from AG rather than support our local distributors and dealers.
I have noticed around this forum that quite a few of my fellow Norwegians shop and post regularly. There is a very good reason for this.
I thought i'd give those of you from the US an example on pricing here Norway so you can see why we love AG so much.
Some of you may not belive this when you read it, but i assure you it's the truth.

Case in point: Meguiars Super Degreaser
Price at AutoGeek: $14.99 which converts to 89.14NOK (Norwegian Kroner)
Price at local distributor: 839NOK which converts to $141.12. I KID YOU NOT!!

In the case of this Meguiars Degeaser i can buy five cans at AG. Have them shipped to Norway. Pay AG for shipping.
Pay the 25% tax that we have on almost all imported goods. And still not be near the price that my local dealer charges for one can.

This is just one example of the insane markups that the dealers/distributors over here operate with.
So, still any doubts as to why we shop here at AG? ;)

:applause: thank you Thomas, you tok the word out of my mouth

The exchange rate is at an all time high level, between 83.5 and 85 cents
This is going to make purchases much cheaper than it was when the dollar slipped to 50cents. Thank god those days are over. That was painful

Shipping can be painful if you order incorrectly or a big amount like menzerna gallons
Here's some tips

By pads and 16 oz bottles of products in one order
Order no more than two one gallon containers and if you have too, only get a few 16 oz bottles with it
Do not order pads and gallons. It will make pads way too expensive because of shipping.

Pads are small and extremely light and at seven to twelve dollars each x say a dozen or more would be much cheaper than buying locally at 25 to 35 dollars each.

Thanks for the info Dream Machines,I have being a bit scared of ordering from AG incase I got stung whith massive delivery costs and a dodgy exchange rate. But now that I now you have done it sucsesfully I will give it ago in the near future.
Thanks Dave

Sure no probs
It just takes some thinking.
obviously the bigger and heavier the product, the more it costs so don't mix light and heavy items in the same order. the light ones will cost you more
Sure I've been stung a few times but it's ok cause locals don't have alot of these brands.

Don't forget that for lines that AG doesn't carry, some mfg'r and online stores will allow you to choose which shipping method and carrier you prefer.
heather at DP in denver lets me choose USPS surface sea mail for the gallons of their product.
Saves me a packet
