In the Optima I don't even need to use the wipers. At 30MPH the water just goes right off the windshield.

About how long? I am always open to new options if they are better. The photo of the Optima is 1 month after I applied the Adam's.
 
I normally use invisible glass with rain repellent so Its hard to be sure, but I would say close to 6 months. It sounds like rainx may repel a little better but doesn't last near that long.
 
I've been meaning to ask. Is opti-seal any better than rain-x? Rain-x works pretty decent and I've never used anything else. The only drawback to rain-x is when its not raining medium to hard it actually makes it much harder to see. If the drops are small they accumulate in a mist-like sheet of very tiny beads that don't combine with each other as they do on untreated glass and it becomes necessary to use wipers when you could normally do without them if the glass was untreated. Its much more effective at freeway speeds or with heavy rain. Light rain is a pain with rain-x.
 
Also, is there any way to remove the wiper pattern from the glass? The part that you only see when its wet. The water beads differently on the part that the wipers travel across and while rain-x helps a little its still there. I even try a window polishing kit with little to no improvement with my rotary drill. Tried clay and IPA too.

As you can see in the Optima picture, the pattern isn't there. All I did was clay and seal.
 
I picked up the griots glass sealant, waiting for a chunk of time to polish and seal mine.

I normally just use the rain-x washer fluid which works surprisingly well.
 
Optimum Opti Glass if your looking for something that will last a really long time. Regular wax and paint sealants will not give you a whole lot of durability.
 
I actually used blackfire sealant and it still beads after 5 months. But I can tell its time to redo it.

damn, $40 an ounce vs. $1 an ounce for griots, hope it is really good stuff.

Try Ceri Glass by Car Pro.
 
I have both the Griot's and RainX sealants, and while the Griot's sealant works great, they both look, smell, and apply the same. They may both be different products, but it sure doesn't seem that way…

1 year for the commercial version 3 for the pro. About 20 applications(whole vehicles glass) per bottle.

anyone know about how many applications can get out of the opti 60cc glass coating ?
 
I use Aquapel and LOVE it! 6 months of incredible sheeting for me. I am looking to try Opti-Glass in the future but I will always have Aquapel on hand.

I bet that none of the above auto-glass 'sealers' are:
"Nano-structured-sealants"...such as is the case regarding self-cleaning glass.

Until OEM vehicle manufacurers find a way to pass off the expense of vehicles
having self-cleaning auto-glass onto the consumers (without too big of an uproar);
and/or: technological advances reduces its costs substantially...

I'm more than happy to use products such as Sprayway, and its ilk, to clean auto-glass.

As to the windshield's auto-glass:
-I may be one of the few that won't be "sealing-up" this vehicle surface on any of my vehicles.
Never have.

-That's why the invention of wind-shield wipers (especially electrically-operated),
and their replaceable inserts, are looked upon favorably by many folks...Including myself!
