since my previous guess was 997 and someone guessed it before me (i went through the whole thread again), i'll change my guess to 979:buffing:

Just want to clarify. What that means is after the photos were taken, we started pulling machines from the inventory pictured to fill orders so we have less today than we had yesterday and will have less tomorrow than we have today. So we created the contest taking a photo and a count at that moment in time.

That's why you guys are guessing. Just in the same way that you cannot see all of the jelly beans in the jar. It would be much easier to count them if we laid them all out but that would just be a contest of who can count the most accurately the quickest so guessing is really the only way to win this one.
 
I'm going with 853. This is tricky, yet awesome!
