I live in south Georgia and it get very hot and humid during the summer, so windows can be a real biatch. I recently had a hard time cleaning the insides w/o leaving some type of light film. You can't see it from inside the car, but it's very noticable to me looking in from the outside. I've tried Stoners, 50/50 water/alcohol, and few others. I've washed by glass towels separate, added degreaser to wash, and rinsed twice w/ vinegar. A fellow member told me today that the Surf City is the best he's ever used, so maybe I'll give it a try. Any other ideas? Thanks!

i use spray way window cleaner i spray the window then buff with steelwool the finest you can buy 000 then wipe clean window comes out perfect

Thanks, but how long does it take? I'm usually pressed for time.

The best tip that I've read ref: hot glass/streaks is to never spray the glass. Spritz the window cleaner on your MF (glass WW best) and then wipe glass clean. My personal experience is that it works much better but not totally fail safe on the streaks.

I forgot to mention that I tried that yesterday and today w/ some success, but I still see the streaks. I haven't had any complaints yet, but I really don't like the finished product.

I have used stoners and sprayway and Sprayway is my go to now. I use it with a window waffle towel/ or another glass towel from another vendor. Most of the time its the other vendor towel to clean with and the waffle to dry with.

Surf City is the only cleaner I've used that hasn't streaked on me. I applied it to my Corvette's glass in the Florida sun last week and it seemed to work great. Even Stoner's will streak on hot glass in my experience.

I recently switched to a cleaner I found in Lowes. Called Perfect Glass. In a black bottle. No links, so look it up.:D

Hope's Perfect Glass is a nice product....I also use the Method glass cleaner and APC...they all work nice and no harsh chemicals....

Megs Nxt glass cleaner ..smells great and leaves no streaks behind

+1 to the vote for Surf City Clearly Better Glass cleaner. I have used it on smokin' hot glass and haven't had streaks yet. Also I had read and used with success that before doing glass if it's hot crank the car and turn the AC up full tilt and it will cool the glass and help prevent streaks.

A little tip Ive learned when doing glass is after you have scrubbed it good with a glass cleaner and wiped it the best you can, go over it again with a dry, clean, good gripping microfiber towel. It will take the smudges and film that is left over right off. I can get a windshield completely haze and mark free with ease doing it this way.

I agree with DatDude. I spray Stoner's Invisibible Glass on the windows, then I wipe with a microfiber towel and then buff all the streaks off with a dry microfiber and the streaks come right off. Before I discovered microfiber, I use to use a mini squeegee which would leave the inside windows streak free but it would always leave a thin line of window cleaner.

Are all of the products mentioned safe for tinted windows? I have been using Eagle one fow now only because it is safe for tint. but i am not happy with it when i do windshields.

I usually use stoners, it works great. But once while talking to a window installer he told me that the regular newspaper when used for drying glass actually strips your glass clean. It really does work the only draw back is your hands get real dirty from the ink but any streaks are gone. Also very cheap to use your old newspapers, recycling in a way I guess.

J&L -- The Surf City Garage product mentioned -- Clearly Better Glass Cleaner --- is safe for tinted windows, rubber, plastic, Plexiglas, etc. It has no ammonia. Happy detailing - Steven
