All you guys that are using quad 0 steel wool are using oil free stuff right?
Liberon is the only manufacturer I know of that makes oil free steel wool, and is the only steel wool I use for polishing anything. It will never break off in little bits either, as it is one continuous strand. I have purposely tried to get it to do that on a rough surface and it just wouldn't. I'm 100% convinced there is no better steel wool for ANY application. Works fantastic at removing surface rust on chrome, without scratching the chrome, just be sure to use a nice sudsy soap.
Remember steel wool comes in grades designated by zeroes, with one zero being the most course, each added zero and the grade becomes finer, four zeroes is the finest.
I would highly urge to use nothing less than 0000 on glass, and make sure both the steel wool and glass are more than generously lubricated with either soap or glass cleaner.
