Windshield cleaning

Hello All,

I have a car that I bought and the windshield looks good till I use the wipers. Evidently the previous owner had written on the windshield with some kind of marker (the car was at an auction) and the numbers show up with the use of the wipers.
I've cleaned the windshield with alcohol, Windex, glass cleaner, and it's still there.
I was wondering about claying it with detailer as a lube then alcohol and glass cleaner but I figured I would ask first.

Claying windows is a very acceptable practice. Definitely give it a go. Hopefully it will eliminate the ghosting.

If clay doesn't work you can hit it with polish or compound on a DA.

I don't have a DA but I do have some Wolfgang paint polish and some scratch X. I was afraid of the Scratch X on the windshield!
