I was cleaning up the windshield this past weekend and noticed what looks like little tiny dings or chip marks. The glass is clear but with the sun hitting it, it looks like little shiny reflections. What can resolve this? I have been using IG but ran out. Time to go get more. But I was wondering what products might be able to even out these little chips and how to apply. Thanks :buffing:

Rock chips on windshield.....not much can be done except replacing the windshield.

'Tis like being sandblasted, one pebble at a time.

Yes, sand blasted one by one, little stinking rocks. One of the cons of driving a vette (or any DD in the burbs). They are low to the ground, so even the littlest of the little stinky rocks get a shot at my windshield. Maybe I should not clean the windshield so good. That way the dirt can fill the chips and not scatter the sun light so much. But, then I would not see the big stinky rocks coming. Thanks for the input. :xyxthumbs:

Agree with above. It seems some windshields handle chips better than others. My ten year old work truck(Sonoma) with 120k has very few chips, my newer Rav-4 with 35k will probably need its windshield replaced after this winter.

I stopped in an auto glass store a couple months ago when I got a very noticeable divot in my windshield. The car had maybe 1500 miles on it so I wanted it fixed. No such luck. They could not do anything with it, said it too small to do crack repair and I would have to live with it or replace the glass. I now have a few more minor chips in the glass not mention an ever growing rock ding collection on the front end. They don't stay new for long when you drive them everyday.
