I am located here in Baltimore where we've just been pummeled by our worst winter storm to date. I've got upwards of 31" of snow on my property and I'm sure it's going to hamper our detailing abilities.

Long story short-- I'm looking for ways to drum up business. Specials you might offer this time of year, educational posts for Social Media or something of the sort. Any ideas will help. I'd like to get my part-timer to full-time by spring and the next few weeks/months are key to this!

I would invest to be in a money saver magazine that delivers to thousands of homes monthly. With all that snow salt and swirls and dirty interiors you should be able to make that back quickly letting the community know your here to cater.

I'd put hot chocolate on your menu for sure. But I'm from California and it was 65 today. Way too hot for hot chocolate. ;)

Get in contact with your major newspaper in city and pay for a front cover sticker on every paper sold briefly telling potential customers your in town to detail or something to that effect, may run you about 1000 for a one day circulation.

Or stick with a money saver magazine those 2 marketing streams you will get business maybe not a lot but it's a start, with the art work it may run you 600 a month.Ive done it many times and made my money back,it's all about meeting new people and establishing a good reputation.and the bonus is word of mouth and that's free so good luck Maryland got mucho bucks.

Talk to a local public relations consultant, get them to do a press release and submit it to your local papers. That did wonders for me.

The other thing would be to invest in Facebook advertising. For daily driver AIO/Interior work I've had great success just targeting everyone in a 25 mile radius. For coating/correction work I laser target those with higher incomes and/or new cars.

I don't really ever offer coupons, I find it devalues my services. I don't want to compete with the guys who do full details for $125-200. An AIO and interior detail with me is 300-400. I market a lot more for correction/coating jobs now though. I didn't think my market would support $800-2000 jobs before but once I started marketing them I picked up a whole new class of clients.

And a tip for running Facebook ads this time of year, run A/B ads to determine what's getting you the most response. I'd run at least one informing people about the dangers of leaving salt on their vehicle. Utilize a blog on your page, write an article, then direct people there from the ad. Content marketing is king. Offering people something of value before they pay you.
