It's right around the corner...so they say. That dreadful time of year when cars get ugly, the roads are full of crud. Our poor cars get a beating.

I decided to give my 1994 civic hatch a little tlc today. I usually schedule time to buff it twice a year. In May, I used SIP/nano then Zaino to seal it up. It's daily driven and sometimes not washed as often as it should be. The paint was flat as a pancake this morning when I washed it.

I hit it with the clay bar, took off any light road tar/bugs that were on from the summer. The finish wasn't too bad so I decided to hit it with Meg's Ultimate Compound with my cyclo and green pads. Talk about easy? Zero complaints!! It brightened things right up.

It was sealed up with a fairly light coat of 476s Collinite paste wax. I am really beginning to love this stuff! No difficulty in using it at all! I might hit it again next month with another coat of 476s.

A few pics: I didn't get to tires and trim yet but it looks nice :)

looks good.....did you get any staining on trim with the 476?

Even a 1994 needs some TLC and this one's looking good!! :props:

what a shame...

those doglegs go in everyone of these cars...i had one (a 93) with 334,000 km on er. smoked a bit, but it was starting to rot in rear quarters...too bad, cause i woulda drove her into the ground if i didnt get 3500.00 for it in 2004!

looks great man!

Nope, I didn't have any issues with staining the trim. I am VERY cautious where the wax is applied.

Thanks, Bobby G! yes, no matter what I drive, it must be well cared for!
Primo, yep, they all go, back there! I had a blue 1993 and it was starting to get bad when I sold it. This is a one owner car :) I found it on the job. 155k on it with impeccable maintenance records. Doesn't burn a drop of oil. Thus far, since taking ownership since last July, I had to put a radiator($57) and full exhaust on it(NOT cheap!). Otherwise, get in, and go :) 400+ miles to the tank, every time. I love that!

Just used some adams shiny stuff on the trim and my favorite, Meguiar's endurance on the tires. I hate it when they're so clean, you don't want to drive them!! :)

Looks great for a 94.

How was the application of that 476. Was it tough to remove.

Shine:Thanks! It was a walk in the park...application and removal. I didn't apply it "ridiculously light" and I kind of massaged it in to the finish. I did the entire car, little by little. Let it sit for about 5 minutes when I was done...removed it with two MF towels. No sweat! I am still pretty fired up and am debating putting another coat on for extra protection.

Thanks! My Z06 is next! :) I am fairly certain it'll be getting 105-205 or SIP-PO85RD or Nano(super finish). It needs it.

I like 476 much better than 845. I use it like a wowo wax. I can do my F150 in about 20 minutes and it looks great.

Thank you! Yes, I dig 476s! I think it is becoming my favorite wax. Considering I was a Zaino user since late 1999, I hadn't really used waxes since then. :)

The paint looks fantastic considering it's 18 years old and has probably never missed a day of work :)

WickedLou, thanks.

I can't confirm but I'm fairly certain parts have been touched up here and there. It's been VERY good to me in the 14 months that I've owned it. :). I got caught in the rain this morning going to work. Those tight, pellet sized beads made me grin heading to work.

It rained here in CT for four days on and off. The honda is a daily driver. I just washed it for the first time since I waxed it with Collinite. Let me tell, you, it's a beautiful thing :) The hood wasn't as tight as the rest of the car, but everything else was right on the $. I have it washed and drying now, going to put another quick, light coat of 476s on. We won't have too many days like these left so I am taking full advantage! Also going to wax the jambs which should protect things a bit better there. After this, it's on to my z06. :) If it's nice where you are, I hope you're enjoying it!! Have a great weekend.

Just for fun, I applied a little heavier coat to the civic. Just to see if it was any more difficult to remove, I used a 100 percent cotton towel to take the wax off. No difference :) Easy on, easy off. I think I found myself a new final product! Love how slick the finish feels after it's wiped off. This is good stuff!!

The Z06 turned out beautifully. Per Mike's suggestion, I Used SIP then PO85RD with Hydra-Tech pads on the FLEX. Finished it with Zaino, but Collinite is definitely going on.

I washed and dried the civic today. Added a coat of 845 Collinite with the cyclo and some blue pads. I love this little beater :)
