Winter/salt protection

Seal it and top it with 845. It will last you the entire winter.

Actually did use opti-seal first, a mos or so ago. From other web forums I ge the impression that the opti-seal will migrate the 845 as a topper. not sure how that works or how you can prove it. All I know is the opti-seal made the 845 easily to apply and I'll see how this layering routine works out.

Agree. Its so easy to use as a wipe on walk away. Perfect to combine with 845 qualities. We'll see. The look of the two is really good and I'm pleased. At the end, results count. It'll be interesting to see how this looks in Feb. For now, I'm happy.

BTW, how does one prove that Opti-Seal migrates the wax to a topper? I dont' dispute Dr. G as I really like the Optimum products and the results are good. I just don't know how you prove that conclusion. Thoughts?

I don't think your wrong. I just don't know. Intuitively, I think your right. Establish the base with good paint prep, seal, and coat with 845. Sacrifice the 845 during the winter knowing the seal is the ultimate backstop. Part of the problem with this thinking is that 845 is listed as a wax, its seems to act just as well as a sealant. Regardless, if it works, it works.

I would put Collonites in a hybrid category - paint toppers that offer great protection while containing some naturally derived compounds.

I just winterized my car and used these products

used menzerna final polish to bring up fresh clean paint, then used Klasse AIO, topped with collinite 845, topped with p21s carnauba, sealed in with wolfgang DGPS, topped with one more coat of carnauba. It rained yesterday and i had a lot of fun watching the water beads race off the hood!! when it stopped raining took the car down a road at 80 mph and it was perfectly dry.
