Winterized Mustang - BFWD+Collinite #845

In preparation for another NYC winter, I applied a layer of Collinite #845 this morning over two coats of already existing BFWD. The more I use Collinite #845, the more I love it.

I gues now I have no more excuses for not fixing the shingles on the house.

Looks great! This isn't your daily driver is it?

I have a 2010 black Camaro SS that is my year round daily driver and it looks like hell. The weekly washes have taken a toll. I have BFWD/Collinite and Opti-Coat 2.0 sitting oin the shelf. Having a hard time deciding the route to take.
 
Collinite 845 is one jewel of a product and can't be beat. It's my last step product heading into a long cold winter here in New England....:props:

Did you say 2 coats BFWD?

I drive it on the weekends but it isn't garaged. The idea of a semi permanent coating like Opti Coat is something I'm not ready for. I also think that the pictures I've seen of Opticoated cars look a little plasticy. Could be just the pictures.

Thanks Bobby. The more I use Collinite #845, the more I think I don't need another wax.

It's a great combination. I prepped two weeks ago with M205, then P085RD, then two coats of BFWD a day apart.

I'm getting ready to OC my 2010 Camaro DD.
 
Have just applied the collinite #845 on top of 2 coats of Wolfgang sealant. Bring on the Illinois winter! Have used Collinite to top off 3 different sealants (Blackfire and Menzerna FMJ) on 2 diffferent cars the past 2 winters. The cars seemingly bead water as well in April as they did in October. Can't say enough good things about Collinite. I know the Collinite works because i waxed my son's DD (washed and applied Collinite in the fall, no sealant, it sat outside all winter, and still was beading in March).
 
I'm getting really REALLY tired of seeing you guys making your black vehicles look like endless mirrors. J/k, so jealous though.

Question. Just grabbed some 845 in my recent order. Motivation being I wanted a quality workhorse wax that didn't break the bank but did an awesome job. I'm seeing more and more of you "winterizers" going to it as your wax of choice. Being in Florida, is there another similar product I should have opted for??
 
i also did my jag today...foamed, washed, clayed and then applied two coats of Collinite 845.

Thank you for sharing your awesome work. What you've done gives me more motivation to go ahead and try correcting and sealing my car in a couple of weeks, when I have vacation scheduled.

Would you please share what other tools/steps you use to create the look that you have achieved on your vehicle? (machine, pads, wash etc)

I assume your combination of products used on black will look good on white as well?

Thank you. Nothing fancy going on here. As many people have said, it's all in the preparation. The car had minor swirl's at the start. Here's a 50/50 shot:

I used Flex 3401 and my wife used a Megs G110v2.
1. M205 on a LC Black Fininshing Pad.
2. P085RD on a LC Black Finishing Pad.
3. Klean Strip - Prep All wipe down.
4. 1st coat of Blackfire White Diamond followed by a 2nd coat 24 hours later.
5. Two weeks later after a wash, I applied Collinite #845 by hand just because I didn't feel like pulling out the buffers. Let it completely haze or about 1/2 to an hour. Wipe off.
That's it.
 
Does the new 5.0 have any painted plastic body panels (front/rear fascia lower quarters etc)? Just wondering if it is ok to use a DA on sections that are plastic. Where there any places where you had to work by hand instead of machine? If you hadn't done such a good job, I wouldn't be asking.
