I live in Iowa myself. I leave a snow brush in the house that way I can clean off the car when I get outside. The car is'nt garaged at all. Don't have a garage. It's a 96 Grand Prix, paint is'nt great it needs work but is'nt bad either. Something I have learned from reading other forums is to put Silcone Spray on the rubber door molding, so the doors don't stick to the metal in freezing weather. I could'nt get into the drivers door and had to go in the passenger door side. I had to climb across the arm rest and broke the hinge on it from having to put my weight on it, hit my head on the rear view mirror. I did'nt break it luckly. After even warming up the car I still could'nt get the drivers door to open. So I had to do the same thing over again but in reverse.
The car now has remote start and keyless entry. But I'm still going to use Silcone Spray on the rubber door gaskets, as well as spraying it in the wheels wells so the snow does'nt build up in the wheel wells.
