wizaerds mist-n-shine qd or waterless wash

My local paint supply carries many Wizards products. Their compound and polish is about the same price as 3M products at this store. I haven't tried any of it. I do have a bottle of their sealant, but it's been sitting around.

My paint supply does too. Don't quote me on this, but I think their compounds and polishes are meant to be used with a rotary like Presta products. Try the sealant sometime and see what you think. If you ever go to car shows like the World of Wheels, Wizards always has a massive display.

thanks! i never thought of a harley place, i have 2 local ill have to check them out. i saw that mist-n-shine for motorcycles on wizards web site but wasnt sure if it's the same as their regular mist-n-shine, i assume it is. I'm glad you got a bottle, now you can let me know how it compares to all the others you have. Let me know what you think after you try it. If there is a better spray out there I'd try it out for sure, id still like to always keep some wizards on hand! the bubble gum smell is an added bonus!

No, the motorcycle Mist & Shine is not the same as the regular Mist & Shine.

I figured they were the same. I agree $15 for 22oz is pricy. I suppose I could use it when I know the weather will be nice for a while and try something cheaper for quick day to day use and as a clay lubricant.

One thing about it, it says it has surfactants in it. I'm not sure if it's the same as the car one or not. It says it can be used on paint, glass, etc... And leaves a shine. I'm not quite sure how I'm going to use this stuff, but I'm sure I'll be comparing it to IUDJ, Pinnacle & Adams waterless, UWW+, OptiClean, and a few others.

I only will really use a waterless wash as a stand alone product if the car was just washed and it has light dust. Since I'm in the living in the middle of Snow-Salt-Rain USA, it may be a while until I have a chance to try it out.

They also had some other WW/QD line at the Harley Store I never heard of. I think it was called "Ace It" or something like that.

That's exactly what I was hoping for! You seem to have quite the arsenal of qd/ww sprays and sound knowledgable, I am very eager to hear your thoughts on how it stacks up against your other sprays. Tundra says they are the same, so I'm taking his word for it. I'm having similar issues with weather. I'm sure your going to wash the salt and junk off your car, I always do a quick spray and wipe after a wash as a finishing touch.it adds some decent gloss and the anti static is nice, dust just blows off. Definatly keep me posted

I will do a review of it - but not here, likely on Autopia or L2D. I don't think AG would appreciate hearing my thoughts on Wizard's products. For a waterless wash, it may be the most expensive one you can buy ounce per ounce - or it's right up there. It's so costly (here), I couldn't see it being a viable alternative for me as a waterless product.

However, it may be great to use as a QD type product, since it says it adds gloss and slickness.

It adds massive gloss and slickness. A very forgiving product. A drunk airline pilot could use it. I give a bottle of it to all of my clients that get paint correction and LSP. If AG cannot tolerate reviews on products they do not sell --- well I guess that's their loss.

I appolagise if I wasn't supposed to discuss products they don't sell. Honestly when I signed up I don't recall reading that being a no no, I may have just clicked agree without reading. Wouldnt be the first time. I joined autopia a few weeks ago, the other site Iv never heard of.please send me a link to wherever you decide to post your review. I can't see them midi g though, Iv bought plenty of items from this place! Whatever the case pm me a link if you could.

Ok, so I tried the Wizards stuff today. Yes, it's excellent. It's a very good QD and leaves the paint glassy and bright. Likely one of the top QDs I've used. It's very slick as well. So, for that use it's worth the $$$.

But, I can't see using it as a waterless wash or to wipe any dirt off my car. Of course, I don't wipe any real dirt off my car with waterless washes anyway. I just can't see using it in the volume I would need to spray to use it as a waterless wash. To wipe off light dust it would be great.

It sort of reminds me of CG's V7. Not aesthetically, but by how easy it use to use. A very nice product for sure. The smell is a tad off putting to me, but no big deal there.

There's reviews all the time with folks using products that AG don't sell. Chemicals Guys reviews were quite often if I recall, and now aG sells them.

A review is a review. Without them no one gains anything. Members reviews may even help AG staff determine what lines to pick up.

As far as links are concerned, I think the only infraction is when it's a link to a product on another selling site of a product that AG carries. In other words, don't link someone to a site to buy something that is already offered for sale here. I can live with that and it's a good rule. AG is in business to make money and can appreciate them wanting people to by products here.

Wizards isn't sold here, so there shouldn't be a problem and if there is, then wow...it's the first I've known of that rule and I've been a member here since 2011 and lurked for longer than that and never seen it being an issue.

Take a look for yourself and see if it's something you'd like, something you may like to do a review on, then write it up and post it here. Perhaps there may be enough interest for AG to carry it, but I doubt it.

I have access locally to Wizards products. Have never bought any, but was given a small bottle of their sealer and I've yet to use it.

I'm not going to pay $>80 and more like $100 (Mystic compound&polish) just to try something out when I have other products that will work for me. Would I like to try them? Yes, but in time.

I think it's a problem. AG doesn't like reviews of products they don't sell. I think it's OK to talk about it or mention it, but not link to it - regardless if it's a competitor's or manufacturer's site. They are the rules as I understand them.

Plus if you review something not sold here, someone will bash you for doing so... Ask me how I know.

I have a bottle of Wizards that I picked up locally and have been using for the past 3-4 months. I spritz my microfiber with it before drying up water spots do a complete wipe down with it when finished with the wash and dry. It seems slicker than other OTC spray detailers that I have used in the past (Meguiars, Mothers), but getting a streak free application isn't as easy as I would like on my black car. It's funny because when the car starts to reaccumulate dust, you can see remnants of the Wizards application. Could it be my technique or a lesser quality microfiber? Maybe. Either way, the product does produce a nice shine and even seemed to help promote beading and sheeting several washes after LSP application. I have used it successfully to take on light dust between washes. I don't see much advantage to using it for non-painted surfaces, like plastic trim, bumpers, etc. As mentioned, the price per oz. is on the higher side. I do like the product, but I'm still curious to try others.... For me, the next up is going to be CG V7 over Blacklight. I also have a bottle of XMT Spray Wax that I'm eager to try out.

Sorry that happened to you.

Last I checked most manufacturer's that offer products here at Autogeek actually sell their products for more money on their own site than Autogeek does here. The only exceptions that I know if is Chemical Guys...and as I understand it AG now owns them so that shouldn't be an issue now.

Just took a gander...

Looks like with me posting the link above that I have violated http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/company-forum-news-headlines/23712-forum-rules.html number 13 without even knowing it. I've looked at these rules numerous times and never noticed it until now. I've also seen exceptions being made to this by moderators...I'm almost certain of. Regardless, even though I don't see the issue with me posting the outside company link, I won't do it anymore.

However, I see nothing written in those rules that would deter someone from doing a review of the products mentioned in this thread. I even looked twice and if I missed it I must be blind.

Oh well...I don't make it a point to blantanly violate any forum rules, and I think AG moderators make exceptions for certain people for certain occassions and they reserve the right to do so.

Two sticky's on forum rules found here, and both seem to be time stamped the same, yet say different things. Auto Geek Online Auto Detailing Forum - Search Results

Sticky #1.
http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/company-forum-news-headlines/23712-forum-rules.html 2-23-2010 with a 10:44am time stamp.

Rule ..."13. No Commercial sales, personal sales or samples from competing companies. One post trying to promote and you will have banned yourself permanently. This is a private forum not an open forum, no links to outside companies."

Sticky #2
http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/introduce-yourself/24039-forum-rules.html Also time stamped 2-23-2010 with a 10:44am.
Rule..."13. No Commercial sales or samples from competing companies. One post trying to promote and you will have banned yourself permanently."
NOTE: No mention of linking to an outside company in the above quote even though it's time stamped the same.

This holds true that the rules will change when they see fit. Gosh...I've had several employers do this as well.

Just wanted to point these to the moderators, and to point out that I see nothing with regard to discussing products that aren't sold here, nor with regard to reviewing those products that aren't sold here.

However, I'm sure the moderators, as they've done before, can and will reserve their write to deviate from the above standards set forth.

So, I took a snap shot of the Wizards M&S this morning, since once again it's raining here. The beading is quite impressive for a wax topped by a QD. I was concerned this stuff would affect beading negatively since it has surfactants, but clearly that is not the case. The water is from rain, not a spray bottle - so it's not "staged". I just walked up to the car and took a pic.

You can say Wizards is meh or good for boats only, but the M&S is pretty extraordinary. I kinda figured it was pretty good, since the OP tried other things and wasn't happy with them. When I see stuff like that my detailing radar goes off saying: "try this product".

Nice pic.

Was at a Rural King store last evening and seen that they carry Wizards Mist-n-Shine there for those interested in trying it. It was about $12 for a bottle of it.

I'm glad you are happy with it! I was going to mention the nice water beading it leaves, but I assumed other high end qd worked similarly. Well actually that was why I started the thread, to find out how other qd compare to mist n shine. I guess I got my answer. I'm glad I got my answer and to give everyone something else to spend their $ on! I didn't mean to cause all these issues with the rules! If I broke any rules sorry, first time posting, I don't want to get banned on my first post!

Um, so I since washed the car AGAIN today, using Pinnacle Waterless wash. However, I rinsed it down prior. I could not get over the beading (including the side panels) and the residual slickness I had going on. It's only been a day that it's been on there, but the stuff was beading and sheeting like Sonax Brilliant Shine and much slicker on the paint.

As a person who has like 30 QDs / spray waxes I'm pretty stunned. This stuff is extremely awesome.

i guess its more a qd than a ww due to the price. im still going to get more mist n shine, but would like to try another qd thats cheaper. what qd would you suggest from ag? also how it compares to wizards.
smooothie- Like i said both my cars are black and iv never had any streaking issues with wizards. it may be your technique, i always use it when my car is dry. i spray it on the car then dry with a microfiber.
