I was going to wait until the roads cleared a little more. Then I saw Darkhorse's thread about waking his. After seeing how sweet his Mustang looked, I was getting the itch. Then Mother Nature threw a 60+ degree day with sunshine at me and it was all over. Cover came off, engine fired up, a few quick pics for you guys and away I went. God that felt good to drive her again. Hopefully I will get a chance to do a full detail soon. Will put up some more shots then.

Thanks.

I have been a huge Griots fan for years. That is where I started with machine polishing. I bought an old style PC from them. So, previous products have been almost exclusively theirs.

Wash - Griots Car Wash with their rectangular Boar's hair brush. Dry with their waffle weave drying towel and spray on wax (to help lube the towel and remove water marks).

Clay with Griots clay. I clay everytime I polish or wax. I did this the day I got it home from the factory. Only sat at dealership for a few hours. I was amazed at the fallout and rail dust on this car. The white really showed the rusty rail dust upon arrival.

Clean between washes with spray on car wash and green MF towels.

Wipe down with speed shine for light dust/dirt.

Polish with old style PC with Griots orange pad with machine polish 3 (fine). Spot polished 2 scratches in the trunk lid with polish 2 (medium). Not happy with their polishes or pads. designed to be idiot proof. My search for a more aggressive polish and pad led me to this site. I have since grown a lot. I am practicing on my truck, gonna polish my wife's Expedition then hit my Baby with my new knowledge and tools.

Wax with Griots best of show wax. Looks good, bear to work with. Had been using 2 coats per application, every 3 months. Use their paint sealant on the wheels.

I will stick with many of their products other than polishes and wax. They make a good product and stand behind them. But I am now an AG addict and am ready to place my 3rd order in 4 weeks.

Bummer on the snow. What state? Hope you get to get her out soon.

My dad ordered at 2011 GT 500, for his Ford, Lincoln Mercury Dealership, in the same color as yours.

Yours is a nice looking Pony. :props:

Nice ride, bro! :righton: Wanna race?! :hungry:

Just messin' with ya.
As is yours.

I don't race mine. I'm sure you would take me. I understand the Z06 are incredible. Have never driven/ridden in one. I drove the regular Vette before buying mine. Nice car, but, I have always been a Mustang guy. Always will be.

Dont know if he has owned any cars like this before, but, he is in for a treat. Let me know when he gets it, I would like to see some pics of it. Hopefully he will let you drive it.

Thanks to all of you for the compliments.

LOL...... My dad will not drive a car. He only drives trucks for demo's. He orderes all of the vehicles for the Ford, Lincoln Mercury dealership and many many other things. I know there is an anniversay Shelby coming up and that is why he ordered it in white with the blue stripes. He, himself, usually has a buyer wanting it but does not have one at this time.

Great Looking Pony. Love the Wheels and Center Stripes ! White would be my first choice if If I ever buy American.

Nice car......I almost bought one a couple of years ago. A dealership near me had one in their showroom. The only reason it was there was due to the buyer passing away and the widower did not want it. This was back when people were paying 15k over sticker. They were going to give it to me for 5k over. If I would have came home with that, my wife would have divorced me in a second. The only problem I would have is keeping it stock and rubber on the wheels. Almost every vehicle I own is modified.

I don't race mine either. Driving it daily(except when it rains) is fun enough for me.

I bought a silver 03 Cobra back when they first came out. Awesome car, but once I test drove a z06 about a year later, I never looked back. I've had 3 Vette's since then and I'm stuck on them. I'd really like to drive a GT500, though. Seems like an awesome car! :xyxthumbs:

SRHTX - now that I re-read it I see what you mean. I thought you said from his dealership. I bought the White/Blue combo because that was the only color combo offered in the original (1965) Shelby Mustangs.

Wax Gorilla - I do like the look of White vehicles. The downside is it is hard to see the defects to correct. The upside is, it is hard to see the defects that need corrected. Wax removal is a bear as it is hard to see.

blkbrd - mine is mostly stock. I put an axle back on it, Porterfield brake pads (stock ones dusted severely) and a Steeda Triax shifter. I know the mods will really wake these up, but, it is beast as it sits. I don't need any more power.

07 - Maybe we'll meet at a DetailFest some year and swap drives.

That's exactly why I've always bought white or silver. Mainly metallic silver, although, I had a white 08 C6. Anyhow, with these colors, on a bright sunny day, I don't have to cringe walking away from my car because I see swirls, scratches, fingerprints, dust, etc... :xyxthumbs: I've owned one black car. To make a long story short, never again!!!!!!

But that's what makes silver and white such a challenge. Light colored cars really help up your game in my opinion because it really makes you fight for finding the defects.

Looks great man. I've never been able to ride in one before, but I can imagine. I've been in an S197 GT that runs right with stock GT500's. Very nice pulls I must say.

DARK HORSE, I like you using my quote, but I'm not the one who coined that man. It's just a saying I saw a LONG time ago and when I saw your car I had to say it.

I have never cringed when walking away from my car on a bright sunny day, actually just the oppisite. I always seem to grin from ear to ear when I look at it on a bright sunny day!

I know my friend, I too heard it a long time ago, however when you said it just the other day, I wanted to give you credit for reviving it (and thank you for the compliment).

I just had a tough time, real tough time with black! I wasn't into detailing when I owned the black car, but I've always been partial to silver anyway. :)
