Review: Wolfgang Cockpit Trim Sealant

Wolfgang Cockpit Trim Sealant

This is my precious 2001 Acura TL, got her on January 21st 2001. 12 years later and 172k miles she has seen a lot of abuse and use. Over the years the interior has been maintained by various OTC products and in the end they did an amazing job maintaining the leather. But always left a tacky feeling and undesired shine. This is where the cockpit seal really shined left a dry and matte finish, with a smooth and silky feel.

The surface must be clean before applying Cockpit Seal, the first thing I did was clean the seats and dash with Blackfire Interior Cleaner. I used a couple of white mf pads and rolled edge towels to clean and the blue pads to apply the WCTS.

Visually I thought my seats where pretty clean………

I guess I was wrong, look at the new pad vs the one used only on the passenger seat.

After cleaning the seat with Blackfire interior cleaner, I wiped everything down with damp Mf.
Here some 50/50 shots of the WCTS. When you apply it looks oily, till it cures. The cure time was about 45 minutes.

The finished product, took these pics at about 10am so 15 hours after applying it. The seats feel and look like they did when I got the car. There is no tackiness, just smooth like satin.

I left that one small spot untreated to compare.

Enjoy and feel free to ask questions.

Thank you for the photos and write up of what looks like an interesting new product. You're car interior looks beautiful in the after shots. Would you say after curing that you were left with a matte look as opposed to a shiny one? Does it attract dust?

Thanks. Cure time to dry was 30 to 45 mins. Haven't had dust issues but ill keep this thread updated.

For a 2001 that Leather looks great!

One week later the dash still looks fantastic, it has a matte finish and does not attract dust. You can still tell a difference on the untreated part. At first it did darken the dash now it look factory new with oem sheen!Im the MAN
It still looks like the last pic of my update.

It's interesting to note that you say you got a matte look, while on black http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum...olfgang-cockpit-trim-sealant-my-thoughts.html pats300zx got a glossy look.

Is it possible to turn some color matte and others glossy? I didn't think that was possible.

Or maybe you guys just have a different idea of what matte and glossy are. I think that's much more likely.

Either way, thanks for the review :)

It's glossy as soon as you apply it, and dependent on the temp it will stay that way for 45 mins to an hour. As you can see my first pics are glossy then the pictures I took next morning it was matte.
