If you look in the bottle after it sat for a week or so, you will see the separation and one part of it looks a little on the oily side. You have to shake it very well for it's full effectiveness. It also kind of has an oil based industrial smell. This stuff even smells like the real deal.

During application I did notice it, where the oil starts to separate after the first panel. After that I shook it before I poured it out. Also, a lot of you recommend another layer of WGDGPS as opposed to a layer of wax. Would you guys apply it right after it cures or after the next maint. wash?

I've done both, just depends on how much time I have.

Woops my bad, I mean Meguiars #21, got the 2 mixed up.

Thats more believable. #21 will streak if applied too thick, which happens more often than not with new users. Im not sure how you got this "oily" feeling with DGPS. When I put M21 vs DGPS head to head, I found both to look exactly the same and just as slick.

For new users however, I give the edge to DGPS as it does not stain trim. As a professional I dont apply wax/sealants to trim...

So how thin is "thin"? You should be using about 4 pea size drops to cover a fairly large panel, such as a hood. You can test this yourself, put a pea size drop on your applicator and see how far you can spread the product.

Application is everything. I never had DGPS, or any Meguiars LSP's streak or be hard to buff off.

Did you polish before you put on the sealant. I've had the issue from the polishing oils the sealant wouldn't take. Started using Chemical Guys EZ Crème Glaze after that and then the sealant and haven't had a problem since and it also adds a nice gloss.

OK... I picked these responses because RIGHT OFF I figured you just HAD to have something mixed up. M26 is a wax, and it will feel totally different. M20 and especially M21 2.0 (both are sealants) have an oily type 'feel'. Not that it's a bad thing, especially after it cures.

I have topped M21 with a number of things and depending on WHAT and WHEN it gets various results. Bottom line is I'd let it cure overnight before topping it all the time for the best turnout and least amount of work. Streaks will happen sometimes, and MAY NOT be because M21 was too thick. Top it right away with another polymer product like Ultimate Wax (liquid or paste) and you'll see streaks, especially if it's liquid. They WILL buff out, (on everything I've ever touched) but on black it's a PITA if you are trying to do it in a hurry. (Well let me take that back.... not in a hurry.... just doing it BEFORE YOU SHOULD!)

For ultimate wet sealant look.... top with ULW or the like. But pollen will stick to it like glue! Wait overnight for it to cure a bit, then top and it's not quite so 'oily'.

Make it a little 'crisper'... top with M26, and will feel a bit 'slicker' too. Don't have to wait overnight either.

As for the polishing oils causing a bit of problem. If that is happening, (streaking) then it's not a bad idea to hit it with IPA after polishing. Some will say just do it anyhow so you can see what swirls may be hiding in the fillers/oils, while others will say just leave it be and make sure you go THIN with the sealant. Thin is in my friend!

Thanks for that. The oily feeling wasn't really much of an issue, just an observation that I wasn't expecting at all or seen before. You are right after the cure time though (and couple hours more) the oily feel isn't as much as right after wiping/buffing off.
