I was thinking of using some Wolfgang ETS on my weathertech floor liners anyone have an opinion? I know it is called exterior trim sealant but thought it would work good on my floorliners any reason why I should not do it?

Soap and water on those floormats. Anything else will make them too slippery.

I would never use anything that adds any gloss or slickness to floor mats. I like Meguiar's Super Degreaser or Meguiar's D143 wheel and tire cleaner on my Weathertechs. The trick to keeping Weathertechs looking new is to keep them clean. Nice advice right:)

Reason you want to keep them clean is that the dirt, sand, and debris slowly wears away the texturing of the Weathertechs making them look worn. Once they reach a point where they are scratched they will never regain that new look. And just like light colored paint, the light colored Weathertechs look newer longer. I have a set of tan and one in black. Black shows everything. Tan hides everything.

I thought that it would protect them from the effects of winter road salt, and make cleaning the floorliners easier in the future.

I use Duragloss Tire and Rubber Mat Dressing on my weathertechs. Works great. Not super shiny like some trim products. Yet, just enough to feel like they're slightly sealed and resistant to deep soiling. It Makes cleaning them easy. I don't mind the slickness at all. I would imagine WG would perform similarly?

I started using this about a year ago. I really like it. If my mats are not that dirty where I need a hose and scrub brush I will just vacuum, mist and wipe with micro fiber.

I use the WeatherTech cleaner and protectant. Had them over a year and still look new!

I use the same product on my VW "Monster" mats. I've not found it to be slick at all and it isn't shiny, but I also don't apply the product all the time. Typically I hit the mats once in the Fall and once again in the Spring.

No need to get fancy with the Weathertech floor mats. The CG floor mat cleaner and protectant works pretty well, but so does Meguiar's D101 and D108 at a much cheaper price! Agree with the others - don't use anything that would potentially increase the slickness of the mats (at least on the driver side!).

See my review.

I have Weather Tech mats in all my vehicles including my truck. I use Meguiar's APC 10:1 and a brush to clean them. They look brand new. I spray mine with 303 Aerospace for Protection which looks great and it isn't slippery in my opinion.

Yeah I'm pretty sure this is the review that lead me to this product.

I too use 303 exclusively on the Weathertechs. I VERY VERY VERY lightly mist from about a foot above and wipe in with a dry MF. They dont come out slick at all but look very clean.

Light coating of Meg's D156 has worked well on my Husky mats. D115 as well.

Chemical Guys make me shake my head. It seams they have a product for everything (And, three or more if it's a product everybody else has). I wouldn't be one bit surprised to come on this site someday and find they have a rubber valve stem cleaner.

True . The good thing is at least the products of theirs I've tried work as advertised.

After cleaning mine, I use 303 as well. Only I use a pretty good amount. Don't really find it "slick" at all. 4 1/2 years with no issues doing it this way.

Maybe it's because I have a truck and I am "getting down out of it" and stepping onto my step bar as opposed to a car where you are "getting up out of it" and planting your right foot as traction?

Either way, the 303 has kept mine looking like the day I took them out of the box.

I've seen Darren P from Auto Fetish lightly spray a mat with Stoner Trim Shine and follow up with a dry microfiber for any residue
