Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant?

I love this product too. I clean my trim with diluted APC first, then I apply with a foam applicator. The foam spreads the product better.

WETS is like the original UTTG, before UTTG went to water based. My Ultima stash is dwindling and when it's gone I'll have to seek out and barter for another bottle or the easy solution would be to go with WETS.

What would be the ideal product to clean the B pillars and the ideal product to clean the rubber trim like around the windows and door jams? Would WETS be good for the rubber seal around the doors?

Are you talking about the rubber seals that are on the inside of the doors where the actual door jams are?

Is it easily to tell when it's hit the point of wearing off? I guess what I'm asking is, have you used it on extremely faded trim and were able to visually tell it had worn off after about 1yrs. time?

How about on new trim? Is it easy to tell once it's worn off?

Reason I ask is because it seem to leave more of a natural matte finish, compared to some other trim products. [based on pictures]

I never used it on anything extremely faded until a few days ago, when I used it on a hard plastic hose nozzle that has been sitting out in the sun. On that item, the ETS restored the black color, but the finish was matte. On newer trim, it adds a nice sheen, but not overly glossy.

Regardless of the pre-treatment condition of the trim, you can tell whether the sealant still remains because the trim has a different look and feel to it with the sealant on.

Thx for the reply.

WG ETS is the best plastic trim product that I've tried so far.

As for durability, I'd say it easily lasts over a year. YMMV based on external conditions that your vehicle is exposed to.

That's impressive if you are getting over a year of durability. Your car must be parked in the garage.

I typically see 3-4 months with this product on a properly prepped surface.

When I first applied WETS I thought it was going to streak and blotch. Rubbed it in harder but still didn't look right. After it dried COMPLETELY it was amazing. Beads beautifully too.
I also wiped it on the wipers. (not the blades)

started using about 2 years ago on a faded silverado. I am extremely happy with results. I believe I put a couple coats first time. Nice black color returned . Bumpers, mirrors, door handles and fender flares all look new. I believe it has been said that if it works, use it often. I usually reapply monthly. It is a daily driver, outside 24/7 in south florida sun and rain.I just recently bought my second bottle. A little goes a long way

THIS!!! :iagree:

Wait... UTTGP went water based? Uhhhh guess that's why I'll not buy any more of it. ;) OTOH... the bottle I've had since 2013 is probably 1/3rd full! :D

Anyone seen the infomercials for the new Rustoleum Wipe New?
I'm betting it'll be a 'keeper'! Seems to really bring fades plastic(s) back to life, no matter what the original color. :xyxthumbs:

There's even a wipenew dot com website. Even works on METAL! (As a sealant it looks like.)

The BEST IMO and a little goes far so the cost of it is really cheap being how long one bottle last.
Won't steak during a rain
Just make sure to buff off excess.

Just received my first Wolfgang Product Ever. The WETS is here and I applied it today. I can now confidently say that I no longer need to continue searching for a Trim Product.

You guys were certainly right in your opinions and reviews. This is just "Top of the Line" stuff here. I mean at first, I was like this stuff is dang expensive. But how can it be, with how very little(Just Drips) of it being used. This is the Easiest trim product I've applied IMO. it just glides along. I know it's not mentioned a lot, but I also applied it to both my wheels and tires as well to see how well it did on those surfaces.

Now I just have to wait to see how durability turns out on each surface I applied it to.

This is the first time that I have ever used a "Higher End" product before. I have very rarely traveled outside of using Meguiars Products before, which have been great by the way. But now that I have seen what a Wolfgang or Pinnacle like product is like, I am going to look forward to some more traveling around to see what some of these other products are like out there.

The way WETS looks like on my Trim and Tires is Just a Classy satin to matte finish that is just awesome. I knew I had to veer away from the very Glossy products out there to see what people were talking about, and I'm glad I did, and I thank all of you for sharing you're reviews and opinions of the WETS product.

I am pretty excited using these newer brands(to me) products.

I am very sorry for no photos still, since I am still having complications with my camera.

Take care all!

@willowcat11. What kind of trim did you apply it to? And what condition was it in prior to applying it? Did you do any prep to the surface?

Eldorado2k,

I prepped all surfaces the same. I washed the area with Megs Deep Crystal car wash soap. Cleaned it twice with Megs APC D101. Then finished it off with 50% IPA solution. I know this is overboard, but I wanted to MAKE SURE it was well prepared for the WETS.

I have applied it now to my brothers White 2 door Nissan SUV. Not sure which one it was, but it's a little older and has thick Black Trim wrapped around the whole bottom the car and on the front and back.

Lightly faded trim. Brought back to it's original black with a very light sheen.

Dad's Dark Red 2001 PT Cruizer had some White faded spots on the black bumpers on front and back of car. I didn't think it was going to go away. It went away on first application. Has a very very light sheen.

I did not have to rub hard or anything. It is by far, the Easiest Trim Product I have ever applied. Yeah, I have used the Ultimate Black Lotion on trim before and you just rub it on, but just way to many streaking issues with it, and never lasted that long for me.

I now have to get that Ultimate Black aerosol plastic restorer of my car, so I can finish mine. Which I am having a VERY HARD time removing!

It doesn't sound overboard at all.. I don't like to apply anything that I expect good lasting results without making sure the surface has been prepped as best as possible.

As far as that Megs Ultimate Black aerosol.. Good luck, that stuff is an absolute nightmare to remove.

LOL! You are correct it's a nightmare. After trying for a good while, I found myself laying next to my car in fetal position sucking my thumb and crying!
