Having trouble choosing between these two prewax cleansers:

Wolfgang Pre-Wax Polish Enhancer is absolutely fabulous for producing that elusive, show-ready wet-shine look. This polish actually enhances and

Dodo Juice Lime Prime Lite Cleaner Glaze 250 ml, Dodo Lime Cleaner Glaze, prewax glaze, machine glaze, paint cleaner, prewax cleanser

I am looking for a non-abrasive pre wax cleaners and these two both seem to fit the bill. The PPE says it preps surface for wax OR sealant and the Lime Lite says preps for wax. I will be following this up with a sealant so I wonder if it will bond to the lime lite?

I am looking for a truely non-abrasive paint cleaner and hopefully the two descriptions are correct in that neither contain any abrasives/Kaolin clays etc.

Any opinions on these two?

Thanks,
Drew

I have the Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion that people seem to like, however I haven't had a chance to use it yet.

This is just my opinion but if you want the best / really good non-abrasive pre wax cleaner, take serious look at Klasse AIO. It is IMO one of the best out there and it works great by hand or machine for me.

Sorry Drew...

-Probably can't help you out too much in this case.
{..................You should go with the: Wolfgang PPE---[subliminal]..................}
-It's not that these two products will/won't perform as advertized...

It's just that:
In between "pre-wax" paint cleaning-sessions using products such as:

-Valugard's ABC or FinishKare's Paint Decontamination Systems;
-CarPro's IronX, Eraser;
-Mineral Spirits, Prep-Sol, etc...

I use polishes with "fine/super-fine" abrasives such as:
-3M IHG;
-Meg's UP, 205;
-etc...

Even some AIO's such as:
-Klasse;
-Meg's
-etc...

As my "pre-wax" paint cleaners.

NOTE:
It's a distinct possibility that I may be in the minority in regards to this: "pre-wax paint cleaner matter"...
As well as to: My avoidance of having another bottle of product sitting on my shelves.

Lime prime lite is truly non abrasive, wolfgang probably has kaolin clay in it which is abrassive.

Is 'kaolin-clay' always used as an abrasive?
Isn't also used as:
-A drying agent
-A coating agent
-An emollient/moisturizer
-An upset stomach/anti-diarrheal "medicine" (Pepto-Bismol)
-As a pigment (Ultramarine Blue; To supplement: TiO2)
-In tire/rubber products manufacturing
-An absorptive for oils
-etc., etc., etc.

I was searching the same question recently and came up with alot of recomendations for P21S paint cleaner and pinnacle over WGPPE. It looked like many have preffered P21S. It might have some abrasive in it, not sure.

Just a FYI and something to think about

Yeah after reading about P21s I was not sure but was leaning towards that it did have abrasives in it. I am trying to decide now between the Pinnacle Paintwork Clansing Lotion/Wolfgang PPE/or Lite Prime. I am leaning towards lite prime because I think I have heard the WG might have Kaolin clay and I assume maybe the Pinnacle as well.

My car is prone to micro-marring and anything with kaolin clay will mar my finish, black fire paint cleaner, menzerna glaze, Hd poxy(I checked msds it has kaolin), pinnacle paint cleaner to mention a few. Now I use as a cleaner Lime prime lite or I will just polish with menzerna 85rd,HD speed, or Hd polish. But my favorite for cleaning and sealing in one step for a mar free finish is Duragloss 111, yes it does have light cleners in it.

Lime prime left major buffer trails on my car with a porter cable I think it was drying to fast with machine. DO NOT LET IT DRY before removing. I prefer to apply LPL by hand and remove promptly before drying, it leaves paint squeaky clean?

Kaolin clay might not always be used as an abrassive, just like sand isn't always used as an abrassive but it is abrassive no?

I am in the same boat as you as far as micro-marring. Lime prime lite does the trick for you? I guess it does not have kaolin? Wow if Pinnacle leaves marring I'm guessing the WG Pain Polish Enhancer will as well because they are similar AG products. I was also looking into the four star paint cleaner but am really leaning towards lime prime lite.

You do mean Lime Prime leaving bufger trails not the "Lite" version correct? My plan is to apply by hand with foam or MF applicator. I am working on scratch shield paint so I am looking to go the "No abrasive" route. Even not micro abrasives so LPL looks good to me.

Thanks,
Drew

I mean LPL but using by hand it will be perfect, just don't let it dry. Now as for four star cleaner I have tried sonus cleaner they are made by the same company in florida it did leave some minor marring. So I assume four star would have same results. I think LPL will be perfect for your needs. What car do you have?

I think LPL is the next step up in cleaning strength after soap and water.

Thanks for clearing that up.

I am working on my Mom's Moonlight White 2011 Infiniti G37x that has "Self Healing"/"Scratch Shield" paint and I am very leary of using any abrasives on it at this point. So, for now I was just looking to wash/iron x/super-fine pinnacle clay/LPL by hand and Opti-Seal. Do you think I can use a sealant after the LPL. The descriptin says it gets paint ready for "Wax" but does not talk about sealants.

I also wanted to use it to clean off some very light and tiny spots that Permanon Platinum left on my Opti-Guarded RX-7. I think I waited too long to rinse and got the light spotting.

What applicator do you use on your marr sensitive paint?

The buffer trails with LPL were due to over working polish and drying out on me, the buffer trails came out with hard rubbing with a cloth.

I have asked about using LPL before a sealant on detailing world forum (British site) and many said its fine. I have tried it and saw no ill effects.

The applicator I use is yellow foam pads by what used to be proper auto care, the original makers of Blackfire. With my PC I use lake country black and blue pads. I think my hand applicators ( the yellow ones) are probably made by lake country they have dimples in them. Don't by hand applicators over the counter because some of those can marr.
