I had the opportunity to test this out thanks to Nick and AG.
The test vehicle was super filthy. Engine compartment was one of the worst I have seen and never was detailed.

I covered up the alternator with a plastic bag and pressure washed the engine lightly. There was still oil, dirt, and grime of all sorts caked in every imaginable crevice. I then shook the bottle of WG Total Engine Cleaner well, and sprayed a light coat on the entire engine compartment. This product can be used on any part of the engine bay with no worries of staining. I then let it dwell for 2 minutes, agitated lightly with a medium bristle brush, then pressure washed off product. I was amazed at how clean it was after. With minimal work and a light coating of the product you could eat off the motor when I was done. It left the black plastic pieces really restored looking. I then topped with Chemical Guys Silk Shine. The Silk Shine added some look, but most was achieved alone from the Total Engine Cleaner.
I'd also like to add the smell was not overly harsh like some other engine cleaners I have used in the past.
The Wolfgang Total Engine Cleaner is a home run in my opinion! I would not hesitate to recommend it for any of your engine bay detailing needs!
Overall, great product!
