Wolfgang Uber Ceramic Coating Review

**SUBSCRIBED**

Thinking about trying this coating for my 1st attempt.
I do not want to run into the "lint situation", so what type/cloth/material would you suggest for me to have in order to buff "high spots" ?

Thanks.

Plenty of other folks with way more experience than me. I used 530 GSM MF (pretty good shots of them in above pics)

Update:

It has been about a month and a half since I did the coating. I daily drive it. I just went two weeks without touching it. In those two weeks it has sat in the parking lot at work Mon-Friday 8-10 hours daily with construction just outside the parking lot where they are putting a new drainage ditch in and have the entrance tore up so it is a dirt road plus the dirt and dust from the air with that construction, rained three times (beading still like day one), and I drove it round trip to Florida. Washed it yesterday. It was too dirty for a rinseless wash. Knocked all the gunk off with the hose, soaked it with the foam gun using Wolfgang auto bath, hosed that off, soaked it again with the foam gun and then washed with a whole bucket full of MF. This was the fourth "wash" since coating. Two with WG rinseless and two with WG autobath. By far this last one was the dirtiest the car has been since I have owned it. Wash was a breeze. Dried with a leaf blower and looks just like it did when I put the coating on. Went over entire car with an LED light to verify.

Nice!!! I have this coating on my GTO and Grand Prix and so far have had the same success as you!

GTO was one of the best cars I have owned. Had an 05 MBM, heads/cam/headers.

Awsome! I wanted a Impulse blue with the blue interior really bad but couldn't find one at the time. I ended up with a torrid red 06/black interor/ M6. 231/242 cam package, full bolt-ons, gforce axles etc etc.

How's the slickness of the paint with the coating? I find after my first few washes the coating became less slick...

-Thanks

I have been mainly using the Wolfgang Uber Rinseless wash on my GTO Thats coated with the uber ceramic. After doing a rinseless wash I go back over the with the Uber Rinseless mixed in a 1.48 detail spray solution. No issues with slickness here.

Same rinseless but use detail spray strength as drying agent instead of after drying. Same result. Still as slick as can be. Confirmed with baggy test yesterday. I try to alternate rinseless wash with foam gun wash using WG autobath. Think that helps too.

I'm trying to avoid anything with wax/polymers when washing my coating so I can just assess the coating itself. If I wipe mine down with UWW+ or WG Uber RW it's slick also...

Right now I'm just using Meg's Hyper wash and drying without any RW/WW/QD products and that's when I noticed the coated panel wasnt a slick as the others (have an assortment of LSP's on my SRT ATM because I'm doing a LSP face-off).

I also tried wiping down a small section with Eraser to see if there was some kind of road film stuck to the coating but that only made the surface a little grabbyer (beads like new, still).

I'll try a second layer of Uber Coating this week.

Ah, got it. For my next wash I'll just use the WG soap and report back.

With no drying aide it is stickier than with a drying aide. Huh.

I am mulling over topping with Fuzion. Same family and fits in with ease of Maint since it's WOWO.

I'm considering using Synergy on mine, or maybe Black Label Coating Booster. I believe both are formulated to use with any coating.

If you use Fuzion, I'll be curious to hear your findings.

I have used the PBL booster on my wife's car and it was fine but more like a detail spray. No improvement in looks that I could see.

I put two thin layers of Fuzion on today. Incredibly wet looking. I can actually see the difference. Very happy with the outcome.

Thanks for sharing! That does look slick! Thanks for the thoughts on PBL Booster. Looks like I'll go with my Synergy, although I do have a few pots of Souveran to use as well. Might give it a try next week.

Hey SgtMaj: How's your coating holding up? Any bonded contaminants yet?

I just did Uber a few weeks back, and I'm worried about it b/c I know I'm going to get a ton of contaminants, and claying will likely remove the coating, and even if it doesn't, how can I be sure? Uber is too expensive to reapply "just in case". I did get PBL booster, but after reading your comments, that may not have been a great move either.

Thanks!

FWIW: Gyeon Cure is a great booster too; really cool stuff.
