Woodward Dream Cruise 2009

Again this year as in many past the Woodward Dream Cruise will go on on the 3rd Saturday of August. It falls on the 15th this year. It is officially held on just that day but is going on somewhat now. We live about a mile from where it all started at 13 mile and Woodward Ave. in Royal Oak north of detroit. About 1.2 million auto enthusiasts will be coming out to view thw 40,000 plus cars. I have made it each year and hope to make it again this year.
 
1.2 milion and one will be there. We try to get a spot in front of the drug store right at 13 and Woodward. Since Chrysler won't be across the street it should be full of people now.

I was there 2 years ago. I won't be in Michigan this summer. It's a fun time.
 
I was cruising Woodward years before this started. They say it will be a bit different this year with corporation funds drying up. It will still be fun. I think its only rained once since it started.
 
I truly miss the Woodward Dream Cruise. Mom owned a home off 13mile and Woodward next to hospital. It certainly has grown larger and larger and can remember some of the original shows.

And Beaumont is just gitting bigger. I was in there in early 2007 and it has become a city.
 
I grew up in Warren on 12 mile and Dequindre....first job was new car prep at Merollis Chevrolet on 8 1/2 & Gratiot (20+ years ago). That's where I got the detailing disease...:D I wonder if it's still open??? The Cruise should be a lot of fun!

R.O.Beaumont has gotten to big for me. I've got upcoming surgery and I'm going to north. It's probably gotten bigger since my last surgery there.

I believe it still is. I haven't been there though. I was shopping parts downriver at a dealership that gave McCord gasket a discount. I built a Nascar V6 for the street from scratch.

They use to have some good Thai resturants around 9 mile and Woodward. I use to go there for lunch with some of my coworkers when I worked downtown Detroit. I haven't been there for years now.
 
I used to live down near there and it was an ez drive to work down 9 mile. All the good places to eat are here in Royal Oak and more coming.
 
I can't wait for Woodward! I will be heading down with a couple other friends for the weekend :)
 
We'll be waiting for you. I waited to schedule surgey till after it's over. We haven't missed one yet.
