Wool on a DA

A DA does not spin fast enough to remove defects and scratches. It is more used for a rotary as it is the go to for extremely strong defects that DAs cannot removes

You need friction (heat) to make a wool pad work.

Thomas Dekany over on Autopia.org uses black merino wool on the more powerful DA like the Griots with extremely fast cut and great results. Also, seen posts of a number of guys using the PFW with great success on a DA.

PFW works great on the Flex (3401).

I mean they work, but it is slow! As mentioned keep the wool for rotaries.

I've had success on extremely oxidized paint, so they can be used with a PC.

There are times when a wool pad on a DA is beneficial. Click the pic below to see what we used them on.

Just not a good combination. Try it and you'll see why. Even if you do get it to cut it will take all day and vibrate until it makes you numb.

I got a wood pad with the machine wax removal kit. Just wondering.

Possibly meant to be used under a MF, etc bonnet to provide a soft cushion when removing wax? If so that would make it completely different from using a wool pad for correction IMO...

:iagree: this is good combo

That combo worked great on this old two door chevy...

Then we tested Prima Cut and Prima Swirl with 6.5" Purple Foamed Wool Pads on Flex 3401 Forced Rotation Dual Action Polishers and also using small prototype buffing pads on a Flex PE14 using an extension adapter.
