Wool pads vs foam

It seems to me that similar color foam pads tend to offer similar performance to a wool counterpart. How do you choose which foam or wool pad to use over the other? :buffing:

When cutting heavily I have always choose a wool pad over a heavy cut foam pad - it always seemed easier to control to me. The again I can say that spurring a wool pad can get annoying at times as well as wool flying everywhere.... but I still choose the wool :buffing:
