I am looking into getting a set of wool pads to use with the rotary (the rotary i will be borrowing from work when i need it haha-for the time being)...

I was looking at the Edge 8" wool pads...are they any good?

Does anyone have any reccomendations on this subject?

thanks!

*i'll also be looking into the menzerna products to use with the wool pads...

edge or very good pads. they also make pads for another company named presta. only other wool pads i would recommend would be 3m

I just picked up a set of the edge wool, yellow - white, but have yet to use them...been too busy with work. They seem like they are made really well.

You can also call AG and have them drop ship the 6" edge wool pads.

I didn't know they could get 6" wool pads. Oh well.

Edge makes them in double sided only and you can order them through AG if you call them. I have LC 6" wool pads that I use that are single sided and work real well and hopefully AG can carry them one day. Or maybe they can get them for me like they do for people wanting the 6" edge pads.

I bought some Edge wools a few weeks ago...and also some LC foamed wools pads....both pads did a fantastic job...I had 3m wools and they were beat from doing boats..so was time for new ones....I got the edge blues and also the greens....and they preformed magik on the paint...they ccut so much faster than foam...also the LC foamed wool is a great pad..very versitle..I could heavy cut with it with SIP..and I could finish polish with PO85Rd with it...it being 6" inches I could get into tight spots with it...The Edge 8" is great on big flat panels....

both pads worked better than I expected...

Al,

I bought the edge wool pads off your review...Thanks! Now, how do you clean your wool pads? Can I just spray them with some power dissolver and agitate with a edge pad cleaner? I have a wool spur for inbetween panel cleaning but wasn't sure what to do afterwords. Thanks again!

I clean my wool pads with soap(car shampoo or a little dawn) and water...I put them in a 5 gallon bucket....fill to cover them...let sit a little...then use my fingers to agitate the fibers...use the hose to sorta power blast them while rinsing...and thin spin dry..put in the bucket to spin dry..or you get wet...lol....they are easy to clean

I agree the Edge Wool pads work great, the 3M wool pads are good too, pricy but good. Oh I've also been using Meg's wool pad, I have no complains.

i might look into the edge pads...just wondering, b/c i would order each of the different type of wools pads edge makes, but what pads are generally ness for detailing cars?

the pads used all depends on the severity of the paint....if paint is good you may need just a green and blue...if paint is bad you may need yellow...worse case scenario a black..but black is a real cutter..it has to be real bad for a black pad...lol....but blue and green have done me fine so far....my next one is the ultra fine finish pad.......and a yellow one also....
