Hey y'all I have my flex set up with a backing plate for 5" pads. I was looking to buy the Megs solo heavy cutting wool pad but it looks like it only comes in a 7 inch pad. I was wondering if any of you guys could give me any solutions to this hold up. I just know I have experience with that pad and it performs really well for a first step cut. Any suggestions to a solution would be awesome or any experience with other pads that will fit my backing plate even though I still have the backing plate that came with the flex I would much rather have a smaller pad.
Thanks guys

Try a Meguires microfiber cutting pad in the 5 inch size. With the right polish you will get great results. They also have an x-cut pad if you need more cut.

I rarely ever ever used the wool..think i used it mostly on a boat.

If you get a microfiber pad with a compound such as FG400 you will be golden. I think FG400 can remove 600 grit sandpaper marks?

Wool works great with the 3401. Pick up some tuffbuff lambswool pads. Don't bother with MF pads with the 3401, they don't work well with forced rotation DA's.

Yeah that's what I heard. I keep hearing good things about the tufbuff pads. More than likely grab a couple. I do like microfiber pads but just on the pc for a AIO process, feel like that's where you'll get the best results with that. Thanks for the info!

Go with the tuff buff wool pads for the 3401, the MF pads don't work as good with it.

You honestly can't go wrong with the TB or HD 5" black wool pads. They cut great (much better than mf) plus, and it's a big plus, they can finish down very well if you know how to use them. I used one on a one step polish on a beige Avalanche about a month ago. I am a heavy user of these pads and will NEVER be without them...they're that good!!!

Awesome thanks Rich I've noticed you use a lot of TB. Honestly a big reason I've been looking into them so much.
