I own the said bike, a red 08 Duc 848. It is time to make it clean again. In this thread I will post pictures of the bike before and after as I have time to work on it. I am going to try and get it finished over the weekend.

Tonight I chose to do the tank. The was bike washed and clayed not long ago and isn't that dirty. I didn't take pics of it so there will not be any wash photos.

Products used:
-PC7424XP
-Pads

Lake Country CCS 5.5" Orange for both 105 & 205
Lake Country CCS 5.5" Green finishing for glaze
-Microfiber and Meguiar's foam applicators
-Meguiar's products

Gold Class wash
Clay
Quik detail for lube
M105
M205
#7 Show Car Glaze
#21 Synthetic Sealant 2.0
#26 Hi Tech Yellow Wax

It started here:

Before

Notice the nasty hazing from rubbing on it while riding?

I first tried M205 with an orange pad and it did not remove the haze to my liking so I went to the M105 on an orange pad. I was limited to the area I could do by machine cause of the size of pad. Smaller pads will be purchased soon. All other areas microfiber applicators were used.

This is after the M105

After M205

Onto the glaze, Meg's #7. I've used it for years, IMO it's the key to the eye popping shine. Applied with green finishing CCS pad speed setting 3-4.

For sealing it up I'm testing out the Meg's M21 Synthetic Sealant 2.0. This is the 1st time I've used it and must say I liked it. It was applied with a Meg's poly foam applicator.

In the morning before work I am going to apply a coat of Meg's #26 Hi Tech Yellow wax with a Meg's poly foam applicator. I will then apply another coat when I get home in the afternoon. My plan is to try and get the fairings and nose completed tomorrow.

Man, that red really pops, nice work!

Looks good so far. I want to do my 03 600rr. I only have the 5.5 pads but it seems so big with the curves of the bike. I want to get the 3.5 bp with the 4" pads. Just haven't ordered yet. Should make it much easier to work with.

Yes it does! To most people the bike is maintained very well, including myself. The tank is by far the worst spot on the bike. The rest of it won't be bad except for the tail section.

It would be much easier with 4" pads. I only used my machine on the top of the tank and where your buckle and jacket rub on it. The fairings on this bike are flat for the most part so they will be easy. The nose and tail are going to suck!

I'm hoping to get this one finished and then move onto my buell. The deal with it though is that all its color comes from color injected plastic. I will be using Novus products on it. I may also be having a big brother to my 848 coming in to, a 1098.
