WORK PERKS.

I understood what he said
On average, I used only 2.34 sick days per year. At my current job I've been here just over a year and I've used all my sick leave up, I got covid, and then a couple of months later a bad case of gastroenteritis. So no sick leave left.

People that abuse sick time benefits will eventually ruin it for the rest in a large company- speaking from first hand exp.

I'm retired now but worked for an employer that didn't differentiate between "sick" or "vacation" leave. You got so many hours of universal leave based on longevity. After 5 years it jumped more, 10 years even more etc.

I was there 28 years. Calling it Uni Leave took the stigma away from "sick" leave.

They also had a policy of mandatory "vacation" time and believed taking some time off is good for employee mental health. No matter how much you might love your job it is still a good idea to devote personal time to you and your family.

The way this was administered is you were paid your hourly rate for unused "uni-leave" except for so many hours of mandatory leave taken.

Then, at the end of the year it rolled over!

I took my 2 weeks mandatory leave every year...i wasn't getting that back. However, i got paid for every hour of unused leave over that amount every year.

Our fiscal years were Oct - Sept and we got these checks right before the holidays every year.

When I retired I got a massive check after 28 years of accumulating Uni-leave.

For sure. Now my friend on the other hand uses all his sick time up thru out the year. Our vacation time must be used. You do not get paid out for unused vacation time.

A company cant force anyone to spend time with their family

But I get what you mean

Yeah but the can’t force you but my job gives me 4 weeks a year. I can only roll over 2 weeks and they don’t pay you for unused vacation. So I either use 2 weeks or lose it.

I got you
My main point was a company cant force anyone / dictate what they do on their own time off away from work.
They cant force me to spend time with my family if I choose not to.
But heck, with the way "regular" folks in this country today are losing their rights , it wouldn't surprise me if that might eventually happen

Since becoming a "full time pimp" i have to be harder on the ladies but i do make them wear full face mask at all time plus safety glasses in case of fluids. :wowwow::wowwow:Im the MANIm the MAN

For fluids, chemical goggles would be more appropriate.

 Well, the taxes just about killed that check. But no surprise really. 56 hours of sick time and $500 bonus.

I look on the bright side. It's money I did not have to WORK for.
