What is you workout routine? How do you stay in shape? Any tips, suggestions, ideas?

I'll start;

I lost approximately 32 pounds in the last year, this consisted of running every other day at least 1 mile outside or on the treadmill. Low carb and calorie diet, along with weight lifting. Within the last year i went from benching a max of a weak 135lb to 190lb.

I am currently 6'1 at 180 pounds.

Let's share to benefit us all!

I ride a bike in excess of 10,000 miles a year and run 15 miles a week. That's about it.

I use Daily Burn in conjunction with running. Wish I could return to the gym but with a business, 2 toddlers, and my church responsibilities it is just not going to happen. I used to do a lot of bodybuilding and westside training.

Any and all of the P90X workouts here. I have them all and will be buying P90X3 in a couple days when it is released. GREAT programs.

I lost 67 lbs over about 1.5 years. Currently struggling getting below 200 for about 3 months. I am also 6'1"

Working out 3 days a week on and off. Too many things get in the way at that time. Upped my weight from 144 to 155 and staying steady now. Focusing on core vs body building. Dropped all supplements and trying to maintain good dietary health.

Spring P90X
Summer Lift heavy like a boss.
Fall Run, P90X, keep lifting legs heavy
Winter Wrestle 2.5 hours every day.

6' 180lbs. 33 years old. I try to keep my BF under 10% at all times.

Over the last three years I've lost about 30lbs and held it down.

I locked in a routine where I work out 1hr, 5-days a week every evening right after work. I'll do 30~40 minutes of cardio combined with light weights. In the warmer months I'm running 3 miles on alternating days as part of that cardio.

The biggest thing for me was behavior modification in regards to eating. I used an app on my phone called MyFitnessPal which allowed me to load everything I ate along with my excercise to show net calories for the day. I was shocked at first, but used that tool to get myself into a routine where things were in balance.

I've been going to the little gym at our apartment 5 days a week since June. I hit the bike for 1 hour, treadmill for 30 mins everyday no matter what. M-W-F I do 3 sets of 10 on the bench press, I'm up to 140 lbs now, 30 more lbs to my weight. I've been adding 10 lbs the beginning of each month, its worked out so far. I also do arm curls w/ 25 lbs, 3 sets of 10. On T-T I do behind the back pulldowns and front pull downs on the machine, 80 lbs right now.

I'm short and stocky and don't have the genes to get cut, atleast that's what I figure anyways but that's ok. My buddy Derek0609 and I made a vow many moons ago to not look like the guys with the huge boilers that sit infront of their muscle cars at carshows, we've held up our deal, now I just wanna tone up a bit if I can.

I'm subscribing to this thread to get some tips and tricks, just like w/ detailing cars, all input is welcomed!

I go to the gym Monday-Thursdays at the gym provided at my work.
Workout routine:
Monday: Shoulders/back
Tuesday: Chest/abs
Wednesdays: Arms
Thursdays: Legs/abs
Fridays-Sunday: days off

All workouts about 1.5 hours.

Been doing this for 2 years and gained 30lbs, from 130lbs starting to 160lbs. Trying to eat more now for bulking, trying to get to 180lbs.

About to go hit the gym now...

The key is to make it count. I only go for about half an hour to 45 mins, but I'm ALWAYS moving. Get your heart rate up and keep it up. I don't sit around and "recover" for ten minutes between sets like these guys that claim they work out for two hours a day (when it's only an hour of actual exercise).

Focus on the large muscle groups first in order to add some muscle mass which will burn the fat quicker. Full body movements>isolated movements.

Not just working out but it's the diet that helps me stay in shape. I'm a small guy at 5'5 155 lbs but was 170lbs of beer gut the past 3 years.

Just started this as a routine.

Monday:Chest, Triceps, Abs
Tuesday:Back, Biceps, Calves
Wednesday: Cardio
Thursday:Quads, Hamstrings, Abs
Friday:Shoulders, Traps, and Calves.
Saturday: Cardio
Sunday: Light work/rest

Extracurricular activities: Muay Thai, Wrestling, Bowling, Detailing, Flag Football.

Ditto, and one of my biggest pet peeves.

Man. I gotta get in better shape. My workout routine involves driving to Dunkin' Donuts. I've gotten in great shape before, but like anything else (detailing?) I get crazy obsessive about it.

Lift heavy things 4 or 5 days per week. Its winter so I need to pick up the pace. During the summer between work, bouncing and detailing gym days drop to 3 to 4 if I am lucky.

My wife is a Registered Dietitian and I have competing in Bodybuilding before so being healthy is talked consistently in our house!

I do a push/pull routine 3x a week and cardio daily. MWF I do double workouts meaning cardio at 6am, lift after work with another short cardio session.

People mistake the importance of healthy eating. Exercise is 10% of weight gain/loss achievements (gain meaning muscle). What you put in your mouth makes all the difference.

Consult your local doctor. Find out your resting heart rate. BMI to me is and old measurement that is skewed. Find someone to keep you accountable. I find workout partners help me reach goals faster than when I workout alone.

Switch up your routines and exercises. Only supplement what you can't get through food.

Metabolism is your friend! Keep a steady flow of meals going. Those of you who work those long hours you can do this by prepping. I cook all my meals on Sundays and portion them out with containers and bags. I worked for a minor league baseball team where some weeks when we had home-stands I put in 16 hours a day. Also, that was the season I competed. It can be done!

I am going to try Insanity this winter. Should be fun!

Same here. I often see the big guys just standing around while i work my butt off until i fail..

I get DD almost everyday, but that is only for a large black coffee :)

I workout just about everyday. I like to start my morning off with a good workout. I either run or lift weights and alternate everyday. I like to throw a good Insanity or P90X workout in the mix to keep things different.

I try and eat well. I have cut out all of the hamburger, fries, etc. I do have my weaknesses but my diet is better than most folks.
